The discovery of "the cave of John the Baptist" not far away from Jerusalem was a great journalistic drama. Archaeological news easily lights the imagination. Remember the movie series of Indiana Jones. Is it true that John the Baptist began to baptize his followers in this cave? Let us go over the facts, and find out.

There are not many historical sources of information concerning the whereabouts of John the Baptist. Of these, the Gospels, especially St. Luke, give us the most accurate information. Another source may be "the Antiquities of the Jews" by Josephus Flavius.

St. Luke tells us that Zachary, the father of John, was a priest, who lived with John's mother Elisabeth in "a city of Judah" in "the hill country". No source tells us exactly where it was. But we should assume that people live near their work place. If so, that city was situated in the vicinity of Jerusalem, because priests worked in the Temple. Traditionally, it is believed that Zachary and Elisabeth lived in Ein Kerem, a small town near Jerusalem, but there are no archaeological findings which can prove it.

Some churches have been built in Ein Kerem since the Byzantine era, though we do not know if the earlier churches were dedicated to John the Baptist or related to him. The first ones who did associate Ein Kerem to John were the Crusaders, but it must be emphasized that those Christian conquerors of the Holy land used to adapt the Holy sites to the area they ruled.

When the Crusaders controlled the way to Jerusalem, they said that the village of Emmaus was situated in the village of Abu Ghosh, and built there a beautiful church. A hundred years later, after they were driven away by the Moslems from there, they did not hesitate to identify Kubeiba as the one and only Emmaus. Also there they built a church, a monastery and fortress.

Actually there has been always a town called Emmaus. It is located in the Ayalon valley. The early Christians believed that this is the real Emmaus, mentioned in the Gospels, and magnificent churches were built there during the Byzantine era, 1500 years ago. The problem with this identification was that the place is located more than 30 kilometers from Jerusalem, while according to St. Luke the distance was only 11 kilometers.

Back to John the Baptist. We have already considered the location of his birth place. And now let us ask ourselves: where did he preach and baptize? The Gospels tell us mainly two geographical facts. That he did his preaching and religious rituals in the Judea desert, and that he baptized people who came to him from Judea and Jerusalem, in the Jordan River.

St John mentions specifically a place called Aenon, near Salim. He says John the Baptist operated there "because there was much water there". St John mentions another place called "Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing". The only possible conclusion for those who are acquainted with the area should be that John baptized his fellow Jews in the vicinity of Jericho. It was the only place combining the water of the Jordan River, a convenient road from Jerusalem and Judea and a geographical closeness to a desert, Judea desert.

St. Luke tells us that John was born when Herod was the tetrarch of Galilee. It means
John lived when Herod the 2nd, son of King Herod the Great, ruled the northern and the eastern part of the country. Many years later, this tetrarch (Roman prince) arrested John and executed him in a brutal way, by beheading him.

Why was he imprisoned and eliminated? Some of the Gospels tell us that John rebuked the tetrarch publicly for his evil deeds. But the great Jewish historian Josephus tells us another story. John was regarded as politically dangerous. St. Matthew insinuates that this version is reliable, when he says that Herod "feared the multitude, because they counted him (John) as a prophet".

The main contribution of Josephus to our story is telling us where John was imprisoned and murdered. It was in the fortress of Machaerus (Mikhvar, in Hebrew), the remains of which can be seen nowadays in the kingdom of Jordan.

Kibutz Tzuba (the correct Hebrew name is Tzova) where the cave was found, is located only four kilometers from Ein kerem, which probably was the birthplace of John, as mentioned above. But we should recall that John did not operate there. He needed "much water". In Tzuba-Ein-Kerem area water is scarce. The Historical sources put the scene in a different site: the Jordan River, apparently near Jericho. Why not believe them?

A few hundred meters from the Tzuba cave, on the top of another hill, the remains of a small fortress can be seen. The Crusaders built it to control a secondary way to Jerusalem, used by Pilgrims. Those days the Crusaders did not control the main road to Jerusalem any more, and had no choice but to use their productive imagination to "create" new "biblical sites". Nearby Abu Ghosh is one of them. It became Emmaus.

Is the Tzuba Cave a modern such an adjustment of versions? May be .But it could also be a place where John the Baptist really did some baptizing. Why not? He was born not far away from there. His parents could still live in Ein Kerem. May be he used the cave when he came to visit them?

We are dealing here with speculations. And these are beyond the scope of our discussion. Most of the Holy sites in Israel are believed to be the original ones without having any firm scientific proof. Does it matter? Apparently the answer is negative. Belief is a matter of the heart, not of science.

What Archaeologists do know for sure is that the Tzuba cave was used by Jews for a long period of time, starting during the reign of the Judean kings some 600 years before John's time. It continued to be used by Christians until 300- 400 years after John's time. There are some carvings from that time on the wall which are symbols related to John the Baptist, including his image, a drawing of his decapitated head and a cross shape.

Inside the cave, archaeologists found many pottery shards, indicating the cave could be used for baptizing. Is it enough for proving anything? The answer is no. Is it worth a visit? The answer is absolutely yes. But for that purpose people should wait. The cave has not yet been opened to visitors.

Considering the epic scope of this "strategic deception," Garcia was given the codename of "Garbo" because, as historian Nigel West puts it, "he was the best actor in the world."

Garcia's focus would eventually turn to WWII, and Roch reveals how seamlessly he ingratiates himself into the good graces of the Nazis, who provided misinformation regarding troop convoys and other essential intelligence. The effortless way Roch conveys these historical timelines makes one thankful Garcia didn't have the reverse ideological intentions.

The film's thrilling climax details Garcia's masterpiece of intrigue, aptly titled "Operation Fortitude," when the spy wired a stream of blatant misinformation to the Germans during the lead up to the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944. In a bit of brilliant double-crossing, Garcia convinced the Third Reich that Colonel Patton was going to invade through Calais on the west coast of France, and the Normandy campaign was merely a diversionary tactic. This ruse proved incredibly successful during the assault, but even more so after the fact as Garcia further stalled a German counter-attack with more debilitating untruths. With this in mind, Roch structures Garbo: The Spy to basically affirm that Garcia was one of the key factors in crushing Nazism.

Roch goes to on to explore Garcia's post-war life, which included him faking his own death in Angola before moving to South America, where he operated a cinema and lived for nearly four more decades. Thanks in large part to the investigative work of West, a stoic professor who provides the bulk of the film's interview footage, Garcia was able to return to Normandy in 1984 and receive an esteemed medal from the British government. Footage of the now aged Garcia walking the beaches of Southern France and the expansive cemetery for the fallen soldiers has a special resonance considering the context.

For whatever reason, Roch juxtaposes his nicely constructed mosaic of archival footage and graphics with one heightened musical track after another. Then, you bring it back. This is the prestige. It's not enough to make something disappear. You need to bring it back.

In essence, what he's talking about is closure. You need to bring closure to whatever you're doing or it will feel unfinished. This is true for a lot of things in life, including your marketing and copywriting.

How do you do this? Well, let's look at how people buy. For the most part it looks like this:

* Someone has a problem

* They look for a solution to their problem

* They determine the best source for their solution

So, to give you an example of this, let's say someone wants to lose weight.

* Their problem -- they want to lose weight.

* The solution -- they want a diet and exercise program that will work for their specific solution

* The source -- they look for the best nutrition/fitness person to give them that solution (whether it's a book or a home study course, work with someone one-on-one or something else).

If you look at a sales letter, many times it mirrors this process:

* Outlines the problem

* Agitates the problem

* Explains the solution

* Emphasizes that the business writing the sales letter has the best solution

See how this works? Okay, so let's look at another copywriting example -- how you write benefits.

First, what is a benefit? In a nutshell, benefits are what people buy. It's the "what's in it for me." It's what gets people excited about buying your product or service.

As an example, if we go back to the weight loss example, people aren't really buying losing weight. What they want is the BENEFITS of losing weight -- i.e. they look good, they feel good, their health improves, etc. Think about it, if someone didn't care what they looked like, how they felt or if they were sick or not, why would losing weight or maintaining a healthy weight be a priority in their life?

They want the benefits of being thin, not so much being thin for thin's sake.

So, with that in mind, when you write a benefit, you can work in both the problem and the solution. For instance:

It's not enough to simply talk about the problem. People need to know they're going to get a solution. They already know the problem, they want to know they're getting a solution. You need to bring it back, show the prestige.

Now, why do you want to go through all of this? Because providing closure feels comfortable to people. And the more comfortable you can make them in the sales process, the more likely they'll become a customer.

And in one startling plot twist actually expands upon the reason for allthat happened.

The story depicted in Paranormal Activity 2 occurs 2 monthsprior to the events of Paranormal Activity 1. This prequel ties into anddovetails brilliantly into the first movie. This time the plot centers aroundthe family of Katies (from the first film, again played by Katie Featherston)sister Kristi Rey. The family includes Kristis husband Dan, their newborn sonHunter, Dans daughter Ali (from a previous marriage), the nanny/housekeeperMartine and their loyal German Shepherd Abby.

The movie begins with Kristi and Dan brining their newbornson Hunter home from the hospital. Their home is just around the corner fromwhere Katie and her husband Micah live in Paranormal Activity 1. As first time parents the video camera isconstantly on.

One day the family comes home to find the house ransacked.Items in every room have been tossed about and turned upside down. Every roomexcept baby Hunters which was left untouched. In addition not a single itemwas taken from the house. It doesnt appear that it was a robbery.

This event prompts the parents to install a fill blown,always-on security camera system in the house. Five motion detector equippedcameras are placed in strategically located places around the home one in theentryway, two in the kitchen, one overlooking the pool and one in the nursery. Every night after the family goes to bed theaudience cycles through all 5 cameras. Nothing happens on camera in those firstfew nights.

Gradually during the days Kristi begins to experience somefunny, then strange occurrences doors opening and closing on their own .window shades suddenly snapping up . pots falling off hooks, etc. Her husbandDan is skeptical even though he can see these events played back on camera. Heoffers up logical reasons to explain these occurrences. Before too long thingsbegin happening that are not so easy to explain away.

Then suddenly one evening something is captured on one ofthe security cameras while the family is sleeping. It happens quickly and thenits over. But it definitely occurred. Then the next night something elseoccurs that we the audience can see, but which is unknown to the sleepingfamily.

Director Todd Williams and writer Michael R. Perry thenbegin our decent into the world of terror. Each night the audience findsthemselves scanning all four corners of each security camera, looking for thenext happening. We watch as the pranks slowly turn from mischievous toworrisome to horrific.

Paranormal Activity 2 is reminiscent of the 1975 movie Jawsin that in the beginning much of the chills occur off screen, such as thefamily dog growling at something out of site, or the baby Hunter seeming tostare at something in the room that no one else can see. The danger of thesituation is initially only hinted at.

Then the safety of the daylight hours is shattered in adevastating way, and all heck breaks loose.

Paranormal Activity 2 is a well made, well acted horrormovie that is sure to have audiences talking about the violent and terrifying endingfor years to come.

An eager, friendly, car salesman coaxes him to take a test-drive, which Amitabh is not very keen to do as he knows - and I have already told you so - that he cannot afford the car. But, being a human being and persuaded very convincingly by the car salesman, he reluctantly agrees to take a test drive. Test drive over, the unrelenting salesman again tries to sell him the car through attractive finance schemes. Our simpleton Amitabh is apologetic as he cannot afford the car, really, and I don't doubt him, as even my retired government official dad cannot afford a Rs 15-lakh car. Now this is where things go nasty. The cheerful Dr. Jekyll of a salesman suddenly turns into Mr. Hyde and starts uttering profanities against Amitabh. Not stopping at this, he then proceeds to slap and shove the old man around.

Holy cow! Pause. Rewind. Replay. Now that was a Ford India showroom and the car was a Mondeo.

Now you know why the Accord sells so much and the Mondeo finds it tough reaching double-digit sales. They beat up people at Ford India dealerships, not a statement that I ratify, but precisely the unfortunate message that came out of this movie sequence. The movie in question was Baghban, which was released a few years back and was a moderate success.

On a serious note, my friends in Maraimalai Nagar in Chengalpattu down south wouldn't even have noticed the movie, and even if they had seen it and felt infuriated, they could hardly have done anything about the issue. For, when once a movie with such a thoughtless sequence is released, the damage is already done and there is no point in raking the issue. Actually, raking the issue is just snowballing it into a controversy and getting the movie more eyeballs and ensuring more damage to the product. Most often the long reaction time of the judiciary to take up such issues will see to it that major damage has already been done to your company's repute even before the court can decide on stopping the screening or making necessary changes to the movie. Anyways, it is difficult to raise any objections against a movie on grounds of misrepresentation of products or a company and be taken seriously.

Ironically, I have a feeling that the director didn't even think twice before going ahead with the sequence. Ford India can take comfort in the fact that they are not the only victims of this Bollywood automotive ignorance. Most of us will remember the Road' sequence where a Tata truck catches up with a Tata Safari.

I guess they would have accelerated the Safari Petrol programme after the sequence in Road came out. Michael Moore's movie, "Sicko," is his attempt at placing blame for the American health care crisis on the shoulders of the pharmaceutical companies and the government. Clearly, governmental agencies that are supposedly looking out for the welfare of the citizens are far from innocent, and pharmaceutical companies are anything but good Samaritans, but Michael couldn't be more wrong on this one and need not look too much further than his own mirror to see the real problem. His denial is problem #2.

The fact is, Michael Moore is just another cog in the big, dysfunctional machine that Americans currently call "health care." It is actually "disease care," and therein lies problem #3. Are you beginning to see a pattern here?

Michael Moore, even just at a cursory glance, is flamboyantly committing at least two of the "seven deadly sins" gluttony and sloth. And he wants health? Michael Moore wants to engage in a problematic way of life and then make those problems that he's created someone else's problem. That's problem # 4. Where does personal responsibility fit in to Michael Moore's paradigm? Perhaps, it's just one of those annoying little details he's overlooked. Where does self-control fit in to his lifestyle? Another annoying, trivial detail, I suppose.

For those who care to deal in reality, until people take responsibility for their own lives and their own health, there will not be health. Nor can the government fix the problem. It is patently impossible to live a disease-producing lifestyle and then expect someone, or something, else to be able to fix it. The health care system is not about health at all, rather it is all about financing disease. And people such as Michael Moore create disease. What we have in this country is disease care, and I suggest Michael Moore be its poster child.

The truth is, our diet is directly responsible for well over 80 percent of the diseases from which we suffer. Heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, gout, cancer, high cholesterol, acid reflux, constipation, obesity, to name a few, are directly attributable to what we put in our mouths, and it is quite obvious that Michael Moore puts a whole lot into his mouth.

The governmental issue of health care exists simply and totally because of people like Michael Moore, and the "war" being waged against disease is folly. If people began eating the right foods, we wouldn't need to wage a war, we would quite literally eradicate the need for the war. So, what's the real solution?

People who follow the healthiest diet in the world, a vegan diet, don't suffer from many cancers, heart disease, hypertension, obesity, etc., etc., etc. So why don't doctors tell their patients about the enormous benefits of a vegan diet? Not only would diseases vanish, but so, too, would the doctors' incomes. Also, perhaps, many patients simply wouldn't follow the advice, so the doctors simply don't bother. And disease marches on.

And so do most environmental problems, which also stem from a meat and dairy-based diet. To be clear, a meat and dairy-based diet is problematic to our health, our environment, our society and even our spirituality, wheras a vegan diet cures all problems. I suppose Michael Moore would scoff at such a suggestion, and then blame the United States government for the cost of the heart bypass operation (for starters) he's going to need.

Any man who truly wishes to improve his life must stop blaming everyone else for the problems he creates. Otherwise, and by any real definition, he is a Sicko. Michael, put down the burger and listen up.

Kitty (Sundeep Kishan) is a taxi driver happy go lucky in Chennai. He works under Manikkyam (Tannikella Bharani) who cheats on him with his life savings. A Kittu upset, gets drunk and Manikyam reached the house and threatened to kill her daughter Nandeswari (Regina)Moving a bit in the flashback, Nadeswari is extremely upset with his father for fixing her marriage without her permission. She confronts her father and reveals his opinion. Just at that moment, Sundeep Kishan began threatening her money and kidnaps Nandeswari. As she is not interested in marriage, even she luckily escaped with Kittu.As both keep running away from Manikkyam, a cute love story starts to develop between the two. When things seem happy and settled, Nandeswari is again removed by Jaggu (Jagapathi Babu).
Who is Jaggu? Why did he Nandeswari Kidnap? What will Kittu do now? For answers to all these questions, you need to watch the movie on the big screen.

Plus Points: -

The first half of the film is a major advantage. It has some cute romantic moments with entertaining comedy. Again, Sundeep Kishan chemistry with Regina is first class. Both of them share a good atmosphere and that shows on the screen.Sundeep Kishan has upped his game and screen presence with this film. He looks much ease and perfectly carries his role. He minimizes his character so well and allows Regina to continue with its dominant character precisely.Regina is the highlight of the film. It has a dominant character and did a great job. She look glamorous and director etched his character of a lively and entertaining way.
Again Jagapathi Babu made a sincere work in the film, but could not be used completely. More on that later. Film songs are definitely a highlight. All were shot and executed well.
Ramesh Tagubothu entertains you decently in the first half. Ravi Babu, Brahmaji and Satyam Rajesh doing their bit.

Minus Points: -

Although Jagapathi Babu did an excellent job in his role, the director could not use it properly. The elevation required and the depth of his character is absent from the film.
Just when you see the entrance to JB await impatiently a power packed performance. Even if he is good in some comedy situations, the tempo is ever built during his stay.After a promising first half, second half slides down drastically. Just after the break, first 15 minutes is a bit disappointing. Sundeep Kishan has nothing to do. Too many characters continue to come in and out of the film which makes it tedious film.Yet another drawback in the second half or the love track between Regina and Sundeep or the link between the two brothers is treated properly.Climax is cliche and nothing special in it. The lock on the widely publicized lip is almost OK, and do not seem sensual.

Technical aspects:-

Ra Ra Krishnayya is high on the technical aspects. A special word of mention is the camera work. The visuals in the film look absolutely beautiful. The production values are high, and how the entire film was shot looks very good.As said before, the music Acchu is also a major asset. All the songs are very good and were also shot well. Dialogues are correct and have been written well.Director Mahesh Babu is quite OK with his first film. It runs the first half very well, and extract good performance from its star cast. But as said earlier, it goes off the track in the second half and try to add too many commercial elements.film script is good enough in the first half, but could have less withe some scenes in the second.

Verdict:-

Overall, Ra Ra Krishnayya essentially functions in the parts. After an interesting and engaging first half, the second half slightly disappoint you. If you go into this film without much expectations, you might also Sundeep Kishan and sizzling chemistry of Regina and beautiful songs.

I know why. Those last 12 hours are the reason He came to this earth in the first place. He came to redeem us back to God the Father by willingly laying down His life for us. By taking the punishment we deserve for our sin and thereby granting us a pardon from God the Father. Yes, I said He laid down His own life. Not one human being on this earth had the power to take the life of Jesus. He gave us His life so that we might have eternal life in Him.
You say, but the movie depicts Him being brought up on false charges by the Pharisees, and wrongly and savagely beaten and scourged by Roman soldiers. As if that wasnt enough to kill someone, he was then forced to carry a cross weighing 300 pounds up a hill. Granted he had help from Simon of Cyrene, but could you have even been able to lift YOURSELF up after enduring such torture and carry a 300 pound cross as far as he did ALONE? All the while being continually pushed, hit, spat upon, and whipped by the soldiers and for what? For us, humankind. Yes, humans did that to Him. However, they could not have, had the power not been given to them from God the Father AND Jesus obedience to the Father and willingness to do so.
Some have said this movie is anti-Semitic and they said that BEFORE even seeing it. In fact that was said BEFORE the movie was even released. Some have said it depicted the Roman soldiers as ruthless and brutal. Guess what? The soldiers WERE ruthless and brutal. The whole human race is and can be ruthless and brutal. Anti-Semitic? No, it is not. How can I say that? Because, first of all Jesus was a Jew. So was His mother. So were the apostles and most of His followers. The first Christians were Jews.
Some have said that Christians, and I am one, are promoting anti-Semitism by supporting and promoting this movie. You see, that is just not possible because those who ARE truly Christian, cannot be anti anyone. It would be a complete oxymoron to say I am a Christian and then be a racist. Anyone who is truly a Christian and abides in Jesus Christ will not and cannot be against any race. Like Bill Gallatin, senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of the Fingerlakes, NY said, there arent any races other than the human race, just different nationalities. No, neither Jews, nor Romans put Jesus on the cross. Our sin was the reason He willingly laid down His life for us ALL. Why? Because He loves us, thats why and He wants us with Him for eternity. He became the perfect, sacrificial Lamb who laid down His life for our transgressions.
The movie shows Jesus finally making it up that rocky, craggy hill to Calvary. He is swollen, torn, and bleeding over his entire body. He has already lost massive amounts of blood due to the horrendous beating and scourging He endured. He had to have been in unbelievable agony and yet He is shown lying down on the cross of His own accord. He did not struggle and fight as all the others who were crucified. Your reply might be, How could He, he was already almost dead by then! Then tell me, if that is so, how did He live yet another six hours hanging on a cross? He WILLED it, thats how!
Many have said how unbelievably violent this movie is. Hmmm, funny thing to be said when most of the movies, video games, and television programs coming out these days are extremely violent; not to mention the Internet. Such as? Movies: Pulp Fiction, Bad Boys II, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Kill Bill, True Romance -the list is endless. Video games: Carjacked, Assassins, Hitman, to name just a few of the endless supply there. Television: Third Watch, NYPD Blue, CSI, etc., and that is just on regular channels cable and satellite have endless violence, explicit sex, etc., and that is okay with most people!
Yes, the movie is violent but I dont think that is why so many are coming out of the movie in shock, sobbing, and reeling from an experience unlike any other movie theyve seen. It is because we know in our souls, that our sin caused this horrifying torture and death to be necessary. Mel Gibson makes us feel as though we are actually in ancient Jerusalem watching this event unfold before our very eyes.
Was it bloody? You bet it was thats the point: the shed blood of Jesus for us all.
It may have been extremely difficult to watch, but the ending gives us all eternal hope in Jesus Christ.
Will I see this movie again? Yes, but not yet. Its too soon but someday, yes I will.
Does this movie leave people with questions? For those who dont know the scriptures, I hope so. I hope so enough that they will seek out the answers in the only place theyll find them the Bible.

Story: -

Rajeev Mathews (Sudhir Reddy) is a happily married software engineer who lives with his wife Priya (Pavani Reddy) in a large farmhouse in the outskirts of Hyderabad. One day his best friend Gautam visited him in the United States, and the two of them spend quality time together. This is also the time when Gautam woos Priya's friend Rekha (Gazal Somaiah) and takes him on vacation in Goa.When Gautam cost Goa, Rajeev gets hospitalized. A curious Gautam wonders with Rajeev as to what happened to him suddenly. Rajeev reveals a shocking truth that his wife Priya was possessed by evil spirits. The two friends rush to the farm house to check Priya. They try to face him, but Priya gets pretty aggressive. During this, Rajeev Priya accidentally kills. Rest of the story is how the two friends out of this delicate situation and manage to hide the murder.

Plus Points: -

major plus point of the film is the interesting story line. The way the script was woven around the limited character is pretty good. Sudheer Reddy walks away with the cake, and gives a memorable performance. He showed great emotion in her role as a frustrated husband and has a long way to go in Tollywood.Yuvaa Chandraa also gives a decent performance and surprises you in the end. The production values are clean, and to show the film in a good light. The first half of the film is well put together, and the eccentric climax is accumulated tension.

MinusPoints: -

The first and main point of the film negative is that it is far too long. The whole film is over two hours, which is too long for a thriller. After the establishment of the first half very aggressively, director goes a bit temperamental and drives the film. He built scene after scene and only adds to the runtime. Some logical errors are also missing in the film. The film unnecessary twists and turns are also a bit confusing. Adding songs to reduce the fun factor and SideTrack intrigue.

Technical aspects:-

the camera work in the film is quite good and keeps the tempo throughout the film. Dialogues are good enough and suitable plot. screenplay is good but could have been better in the second half. Director Rahul impressed with his first film. The way he handled the script and brought out a captivating story is impressive. Installation is below par and at least 15 minutes of the film could have easily cut.

Verdict:-

Overall, the end is a film that could have been quite exciting. But an exaggerated story, and time excessive implementation makes this film just an average case. If you have an eye for thrillers and love movies with a twist, you can surely give this film a shot.

How much should I spend?These are just a few of the questions asked by people who are looking at upgrading their personal movie experience in the comfort of their own home.Fear not as it is not all that bad or as stressful as you may think, in fact it can be quite exciting and if your in need of some retail therapy then home theater is a good place to start.

So you've decided to take the big leap into the world of home entertainment or more specifically "Home Theater".Well hey do you have some exciting times ahead of you? Yes you do.Now before I get going here I just want to point out that if you are a woman it's OK to get excited about entering the world of home theater. I know it seems men are the majority when it comes to shopping for home electronics but let me tell you that that is starting to change, and fast.Now before you go out and get that retail therapy, the first thing you should do is know how much you are wanting to spend. Yes people you need to have some sort of budget in mind, if you don't things could get a little out of hand and before you know it you've blown all of your money on the latest big screen Plasma TV and you have nothing left for other goodies that are essential for your home theater experience.The following is a list of what I like to call HT Basics (things you absolutely need to have)

• TV - yes I know this is quite an obvious choice if you want to see your movie right?
• Speakers - a standard set up typically requires 5 speakers plus a subwoofer.
• DVD or Blu-ray disc player if you want to view movies in high definition.
• Amplifier/Receiver - this is required to send the various audio signals to the correct speakers so that you can have a true to life experience. Put it this way if you didn't have one of these you might as well watch the movie with subtitles.
• TV stand.
• Speaker stands or mounts.
• Various Cables and connectors. (HDMI, S-Video, Component)

Now remember I mentioned budget earlier on. If your budget isn't the greatest or maybe you don't have a lot of available space then one option that may be better suited to you is a HTIB or "home theater in a box"A typical home theater in a box would include a set of speakers including a subwoofer. The amplifier and DVD player are usually combined into one unit and all cables and connectors are also supplied. Some systems may include speaker mounts or stands for the rear speakers but one thing that is most definitely not included is a TV. I should also point out that a home theater in box can be found in almost all the major bands. So don't feel like your going to end up with a cheap no name brand that may break down a day after the warranty expires. Been there before.Now thats it as far as basic equipment goes but something tells me that you're not just after the basics.Am I right? Yes folks with home theater there is definitely something for everyone no matter what you taste's may be and the following is a list of some goodies that may be of interest to you

• TV Stands - the name says it all. All sorts of styles made from your choice of materials like glass, powder coated steel, solid woods and various wood veneers.
• Entertainment Centers - Basically a larger version of the TV stand but with a few more options and more storage space and shelves to hold those pictures or little knick knacks you may have.
• Speaker Stands - Now we're not just talking about a piece of tubular steel with a bracket on it. If your serious about getting the best out of your speakers take the time to do some good research here OK.
• Projector Screen - If you really want that big movie theater experience at home then a projector and screen may be an option for you.
• Seating - Now you may saying to yourself "I already have furniture" trust me on this one you need to see what is available when it comes to home theater seating. Some of the features will blow your mind like a soundless subwoofer that lets you feel the movie effects , prelite cupholders so you will never have to feel around for your drink in the dark, heated lower back supports and of course full massage.
