Wall Street takes place in 1985. If you can look past the monochrome computer monitors, the 5-pound brick cell phones, and the 80s style of big hair there are many themes that are still timely and very applicable today. Wall Street is the story of the rise and fall of Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen), a bored and ambitious young account executive (a.k.a. stockbroker). The themes of greed, ambition, integrity, and temptation run through this film about cutthroat business.

Michael Douglas, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Gordon Gecko, the villain who quotes Sun Tzus Art of War, talks of ripping peoples throats out, and turns Bud to the Dark Side. Gordon shows Bud the tremendous rewards and power that are available through the application of insider information and stock price manipulation.

Bud overcomes his initial ethical objections when the money starts rolling in and he acquires a plush new condo, a trophy girlfriend (Daryl Hannah), and the awe of his fellow stockbrokers. Mentored by Gordon and his quips like if you are not inside you are outside, sheep get slaughtered, and greed is good, Bud increasingly takes greater risks in crossing ethical and legal guidelines.

The turning point of this rise to fortune involves deceit, betrayal, and the apprentice becoming the master. Blue Star Airlines, one of the securities that is the subject of Gordon and Buds interest, faces some of the same problems of profitability, union relations, and financing that the airline industry, specifically American Airlines, is currently experiencing. Ironically, it is corporate raider Gordon Gecko who exposes the waste and corruption of corporate executives at another company, Teldar Paper - which in some ways resembles Enron.

Wall Street is a great and entertaining movie. It also offers valuable insight into insider trading, securities manipulation, corporate raiders, and the lifestyles and personalities of Wall Street wizards and professionals. Even if you have already seen it, watch it again! Itll increase your understanding of the inner workings of the stock market.

Chasen's restaurant in old Hollywood was a legendary hangout were movie stars expected to dine in peaceful private booths on barbecued chili without putting up with celebrity gawkers. There were occasional breaks in the quiet. Jimmy Stewart's bachelor party was thrown there complete with midgets clad only in diapers jumping out of cakes. Humphrey Bogart and Peter Lorre got drunk one night and stole the restaurant's safe, carrying it out onto the street until they were caught. WC Fields once caused his girlfriend Carlotta Monti great anguish by dining at Chasens with another woman. She called up nearby Cedar Sinai Hospital and told them that the comedian was having a heart attack, resulting in an ambulance coming to fetch him in the middle of dinner. And in 1938 the conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the long haired, flamboyant Leopold Stokowski, in town to carry on a discreet love affair with Greta Garbo, had his dinner interrupted by a note from a waiter saying that Walt Disney wanted to meet him.

The cartoon maker and the maestro were surprised that both were fans of each other. As always Walt saw meetings with talent as an opportunity to push the creative envelope. In fifteen years of running his animation studio, Disney had used music to supplement gags and stories, now he wanted to reverse the formula. While recently attending a symphony at the Hollywood Bowl he had been enthralled listening to The Sorcerer's Apprentice by Paul Dukas. What if it were combined with a state of the art, twenty minute animated cartoon? It could raise animation to a higher art form and introduce new audiences to classical music who had never appreciated it before. Stokowski loved the idea so much he volunteered to conduct it for free. He also suggested several other pieces that could be presented with animation as well. And so Fantasia (1940) was born.

Disney's other reason to make Sorcerer was to save the career of Mickey Mouse. A superstitious man, who like many in Hollywood consulted fortune tellers, he felt that if Mickey died, his whole organization would go down with him. The problem was that Mickey like many stars was now type cast. He had gone from being mischievous to bland. It had gotten to the point where Walt would get letters of complaint every time the little guy would misbehave on the screen. He had been surpassed in popularity by the mean-spirited but more versatile Donald Duck. Walt also felt that the high pitched voice that he himself provided for the mouse was not exciting for audiences to hear, his role in Fantasia would be silent. Disney remained Mickey's strongest advocate, despite his artist's suggestions the four foot rodent was a dumb character who should be replaced in the film by Dopey. Their disdain lead to the phrase,"A Mickey Mouse Operation" used to describe things that are second rate.

At that time, flush with the huge success of Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs (1937) the 37-year-old Walt Disney was at the height of his creative powers. Visitors to the studio were amazed by his boundless energy, they would have more surprised to find out he had suffered a nervous breakdown eight years earlier. His anything is possible attitude carried over to many of his artists who were zany characters to begin with. Working on Fantasia with highbrow types like Stokowski and music critic Deems Taylor, Walt would sometimes feel embarrassed by their immature behavior. Don't be, he was told, Your cartoonists are like the elves in Santa's workshop.

If Walt was ignorant about some classical music pieces, he made up for it by plunging into Fantasia with boyish enthusiasm. His imagination was translated into unique visions by the Disney animators. A Bach passage reminded him of a bowl of spaghetti, he was later amused when critics saw something profound in the simple drawings
that appeared on screen. Stokowski suggested they use a piece called Sacre du Printemps or Rite Of Spring, by Igor Stravinsky. "Socker, what's that?" Walt asked. After he heard the music he wired ten thousand dollars to Stravinsky for permission to use it. The desperate Russian composer needed the cash to get safe passage out of occupied Paris. Sacre was transformed from ancient pagan rituals to accompany a powerful depiction of Earth's evolution. Beethoven's sixth symphony, The Pastoral, was changed from a peaceful countryside setting to a Mount Olympus spectacle where unicorns, centaurs and nymphs roamed freely. After seeing the completed work for the first time Walt said with wide-eyed innocence,"Wow! This will make Beethoven!" Like what George Lucas would later do with THX, Walt developed a new recording system called Fantasound, so that audiences would be able to enjoy the rich quality of the music. All of this spending was viewed with alarm by his tightfisted business partner and classical music hating brother Roy, who annoyed Walt by suggesting they use some Tommy Dorsey tunes instead.

With past films Disney had often bowed to pressure from his financial backers to finish them early while he was still tinkering, trying to make them perfect. Giving in to the money men always gave him a sense of loss. He dreamed Fantasia would play forever in some theaters with new segments constantly being added, an endlessly ongoing project. But Fantasia was a crushing disappointment for Walt in 1940. Many movie theater owners refused to pay for the installation of Fantasound, giving the film very limited distribution. The exhibitors who did show it charged much higher admission prices than normal keeping audiences away. The people that did come were often put off by the lack of a story or the frightening devil in the Night On Bald Mountain sequence, for whom Bela Lugosi was the real life model. Roy, who had indulged his brother because he was certain they would break even overseas, saw World War II cut off much of the foreign market. Classical music aficionados like the ungrateful Stravinsky looked down their noses at Disney's masterpiece. Fantasia was cut in length and went into mass release as the second half of a double feature. The Disney brothers took a financial bath they nearly never recovered from.

Fifteen years later Mickey Mouse was back on top with The Mickey Mouse Club television show and Walt finally got his ongoing dream project with Disneyland. But unlike other initial money losers he made, such as Bambi (1942) and Pinocchio (1940), he never lived to see Fantasia become profitable. Shortly before he died in 1966 he said,"Fantasia? Well I don't regret it but if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't."

In 1968 the Beatle's cartoon Yellow Submarine did very well with the psychedelic crowd. Sensing a new market for Fantasia, the Disney studio re-released it and the film was finally made profitable by drug tripping hippies who speculated that Walt must have been on something when he produced it.

Story: -

Rajeev Mathews (Sudhir Reddy) is a happily married software engineer who lives with his wife Priya (Pavani Reddy) in a large farmhouse in the outskirts of Hyderabad. One day his best friend Gautam visited him in the United States, and the two of them spend quality time together. This is also the time when Gautam woos Priya's friend Rekha (Gazal Somaiah) and takes him on vacation in Goa.When Gautam cost Goa, Rajeev gets hospitalized. A curious Gautam wonders with Rajeev as to what happened to him suddenly. Rajeev reveals a shocking truth that his wife Priya was possessed by evil spirits. The two friends rush to the farm house to check Priya. They try to face him, but Priya gets pretty aggressive. During this, Rajeev Priya accidentally kills. Rest of the story is how the two friends out of this delicate situation and manage to hide the murder.

Plus Points: -

major plus point of the film is the interesting story line. The way the script was woven around the limited character is pretty good. Sudheer Reddy walks away with the cake, and gives a memorable performance. He showed great emotion in her role as a frustrated husband and has a long way to go in Tollywood.Yuvaa Chandraa also gives a decent performance and surprises you in the end. The production values are clean, and to show the film in a good light. The first half of the film is well put together, and the eccentric climax is accumulated tension.

MinusPoints: -

The first and main point of the film negative is that it is far too long. The whole film is over two hours, which is too long for a thriller. After the establishment of the first half very aggressively, director goes a bit temperamental and drives the film. He built scene after scene and only adds to the runtime. Some logical errors are also missing in the film. The film unnecessary twists and turns are also a bit confusing. Adding songs to reduce the fun factor and SideTrack intrigue.

Technical aspects:-

the camera work in the film is quite good and keeps the tempo throughout the film. Dialogues are good enough and suitable plot. screenplay is good but could have been better in the second half. Director Rahul impressed with his first film. The way he handled the script and brought out a captivating story is impressive. Installation is below par and at least 15 minutes of the film could have easily cut.

Verdict:-

Overall, the end is a film that could have been quite exciting. But an exaggerated story, and time excessive implementation makes this film just an average case. If you have an eye for thrillers and love movies with a twist, you can surely give this film a shot.

Sunset Boulevard

The movie Sunset Boulevard depicts the callous and unworthy, to an extent wicked, attitude of the Hollywood film industry. The movie brings out the unwarranted treatment meted out to its own stars of the past.

When the silent cinema graduated to talkies, the film industry moved ahead, propelled by its selfish motives, leaving behind the legends of yester years to rot in their past glory, as they had no place or role to play in the present industry scenario. The most affected characters in the movie are Joe Gillis, a screenwriter, and Norma Desmond, an undisputed queen of silent cinema.

Joe Gillis, a modern day screenwriter known for his originality, find his scripts losing charm and not able to impress the customers. He is totally depressed and financially broke. His one time appreciated and acclaimed quality of being close to reality writing, no more generates any interest among the leading industry directors and producers. The burden of life is compounded by bloodhounds tracking him for running three payments behind for his car. He finds difficult to even afford a single room apartment, he stays in. With all doors shut, absolutely no work or support from industry or friends (including his agent), he accidentally comes in contact with Norma who employs him for writing screenplay for a script written by her. Considering his state of affairs and driven to the post, he stoops down to accept the offer, knowing the lowly credentials of the script.

Norma Desmond portrays a middle aged woman and a legendary star of silent movies. She lives in a desolate place, in euphoria of the past glory without accepting the bitter reality of her present day status in the film industry. She lives in a dream world of making a great return in the industry that has forgotten her. She is obsessed for the script that she has written for her return to silver screen. The emptiness and solitude of her life has driven her to mental instability.

Norma is the employer while Joe is the employee. Norma, being mentally unstable, has an obsession for all her possessions. Joe, compelled by the circumstances, falls prey to Normas obsession. She considers him to be her property and showers a handful of presents on him with an expectation of being loyal to her. Joe is unable to appreciate this gesture in his youthfulness and considers being trapped with his independence endangered. He is forced to stay with her like a puppet with the strings being controlled by Norma. He wants to live and enjoy his life and relations with Ms Banter, but cant pursue it owing to the jealous Norma, his employer.

Norma has an ongoing conflict with the cinema. She discards the latest developments in the industry and considers the silent era to be the best. She goes on to criticize the latest stars in the industry and believes them to be sub-standard when compared to her own self. She charges the industry for bringing disrepute and decline of the past stars and industry as is evident from one of her dialogues; Look at them in the front offices--- the master minds! They took the idols and smashed them The Fairbankses and the Chaplins and the Gilberts and the Valentinos. And who have they got now? Some nobodies----a lot of pale little frogs croaking pish-posh!

story:

Alexander (Taraka Ratna) is a sincere police officer in Vizag. He fights against injustice, and gets a label of a specialist meeting. One day, he was transferred to Hyderabad.On the other hand, two murderous henchmen Jinnah Bhai (Ravi babu) and Kattappa (Jayaprakash Reddy) deal with land grabbing and prostitution in the city.Rest of the story is how Alexander slows down all these illegal activities, and save the innocent from Jinnah Bhai traps.

Plus points:

Tarakaratna performs to the best of his abilities, and is convincing in some scenes. Ravi Babu has done justice to his role and does a decent effort as the villain.Message presented in the movie is good and help young underway.

MinusPoints:

How Tarak Ratna was introduced is very ordinary. Komal Jha has nothing to do in this film, except for a few songs. There is absolutely no chemistry between the lead pair.There are a number of unnecessary scenes that increase the running time. There is no entertainment which is a big turn off. Bang Interval is very flat.There is a strong dose of vulgarity, which might not go well with the family audience. Lack of star value is also a big disadvantage. The whole plot of the movie is routine and is entirely predictable.

Technical aspects:

Dialogues are below average and are too long. Music of the film is bad enough, and so is the background score. the camera work is bad and highlights the low quality movie. Editor could have abandoned many scenes in the film.As said earlier music is very poor. Manager tried to give a message with this action drama, but went too far in its implementation.

Verdict:

Overall, 'Eduruleni Alexander' is a very poor action drama with a strong dose of vulgarity. Tarakratna must select decent scripts if he wants to make a successful return. You can simply ignore this film this weekend.Eduruleni Alexander Telugu Movie Review and Rating

High quality music, movies and games for all platforms

A few years ago, when I was trying to find some good tunes for my computers playlists on the net, I always turned blue from anger. The reason? Tons of pages advertising free mp3 downloads, high quality, unbelievable amount of files. The reality is that you can search for one song or movie for hours and in the end all you end up with is a crappy sample or corrupted file.

Salman khan’s movie has recently released on 17th of July 2015, this movie was his first after kick from which he got praise from numerous of people. Anyhow Bajrangi Bahijaan was directed by Kabir khan and produced by Salman khan. The amazing thing about Bajrangi Bahijaan is that it was produced by Salman khan and Salman khan films Production company had provided its services, moreover this movie was written by Kabir khan and scripts of this movie was written by K.V Vijayendra Prasad. In the same way the music of this movie was composed by Pritam and cinematography was done by famous cinematographer Aseem Mishra. In this movie along with Salman khan Kareena Kapoor khan as well as Nawazuddin siddiqui had performed. Salman khan got the role of Pawan Kumar/ Bajrangi and Kareena Kapoor khan performed the role as Rasika while Nawazuddin Siddiqui acted as Chand Nawab a Pakistani reporter. While travelling on the bus Bajrangi described his story that how he met with Rasika (Kareena Kapoor) and he told the little girl that he had promised with her father Dayanand (Sharat Saxena) to gather adequate amount in order to purchase a home so that he can protect Rasika and provide her luxurious life and he also wanted to proved that he is a rich groom. Anyways Bajrangi convinced Rasika to stay munni along with them until or unless they can find Munni’s parents. But unfortunately they were not aware about her parents as well as her residence. One day Bajrang Justify Munni that she is a Muslim while eating meat at one of his neighbor’s residence. And after that Bajrangi wanted to sent her back towards her homeland Pakistan but for this purpose she should has a passport otherwise she will not able to go home. So Bajrangi met with one of travel agent in order to send Munni Home and used all of the money which he has been reserving in order to purchase home. Definitely he had to pay the travel agent in order send Munni Pakistan ……………..

On a visit to Tuscany, holiday downtime is the perfect opportunity to go stargazing—for famous movie locations that is. Below, we present a few locations that you may recognise from some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters, as well as additional attractions in the area.

Val d’Orcia Valley

Have you ever wondered what Paradise really looks like? Maximus Decimus Meridius, the Roman general played by Russell Crowe did in the epic movie Gladiator, and director Ridley Scott decided that the Val d’Orcia Valley was the perfect place for these scenes. Not only is the landscape of this UNESCO Heritage Site picture-postcard-perfect, the Tuscan light is considered by artists, photographers and filmmakers as one of the best in the world for artistic effect. It's no wonder so many famous movies have been filmed here, including The English Patient and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Even without the movie connection, however, the valley is one of the most recognisable locations in Tuscany. Holiday itineraries would definitely not be complete without a visit to the location that has graced so many magazine covers and coffee table books. Located between Pienza and Montalcino, you’ll find plenty to do during an excursion here, including visiting medieval towns such as San Quirico d’Orcia, with its imposing Roman gates guarded by lion sculpture; touring ancient monasteries and abbeys; and hiking through some of the most gorgeous trails in the world.

Montepulciano

Undoubtedly one of the most famous movie franchises in the world, The Twilight Saga comprises three films based on the international bestseller series by Stephanie Meyer. New Moon, the second book in the series, featured scenes set in the town of Volterra, but film producers decided that the medieval walled town of Montepulciano, with its steep streets and stunning views, was a better location for the film version. Fans of the film will no doubt recognise the Tempio di San Biagio, one of the finest examples of High Renaissance architecture and the lovely Piazza Grande.

Many visitors also take the opportunity to sample the area’s Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, one of the most famous red wines in Tuscany. Holiday villas dotted around the area make it easy for the visitor to enjoy a leisurely exploration of the entire region – including its many vineyards. Incidentally, this gorgeous town was also used to shoot some of the scenes for Under the Tuscan Sun.
