Using the "Da Vinci Code" to build quality one way inbound links

Sometimes you just need to look to the latest book or movie to get inspiration. One way to use these phenomena is in your online press release campaign.

See the title of this article? I practice what I preach. GRIN!

Writing press releases is a great way to attract interest about your business and get written about in the media. Don't think for one minute that the press are only interested in "real" companies. If you have a newsworthy story that is topic and an editor thinks it will benefit his readers, he/she will publish it.

Hopefully this will lead to more traffic to your site, maybe a free link from their website, and sales! Yes, one way in bound links from authority sites! Manna from heaven. You just can't buy these kinds of quality inbound links.

But how do I write press releases or more importantly how to a sustain a press release writing campaign?

Here's where the "Da Vinci Code" comes in. If you have not heard about Dan Brown's controversial book then you must have been on a desert island for the last 5 years.

It has created much controversy and I hasten to add , money , that it truly is a phenomena. A movie is due soon with Tom Hanks and Ron Howard, alledgedly.

Anyways, anything related or even mentioning the "Da Vinci Code" is snapped up. I own several "other" Da Vinci Code books on cracking the code and information on the background to the book etc etc. I don't have the t-shirt yet! Watch this space!

I have also seen a few others use the hysteria behind the book to send out a topical release about their business that ties into the book.

There was one about a restoration company who can uncover dirt and restore old paintings and furniture which was very good.

I remember there we some good dating stories around the time of Bridget Jones and also some great creative use of the Lord of the Rings Movies.

In essence, look to the media for the next big thing to try and incorporate it into your press release campaigns. Books and movies are great sources and the great thing is they are always releasing the next big blockbuster.

Remember to try and keep it related but not stupid or far fetched.

How a Hacker Developed a Winning Golf Swing

This is about a business client of mine who had used Mind Movies successfully to help him develop his career. He then asked me if it would be possible to develop a golf Mind-Movie which would help a real 'hacker' like him to develop a good golf swing.

I'm probably erring on the side of understatement when I say that Bob was a hacker. By his own admission he was: one of those players who've never really had a proper golf swing.

The way he told it, his main concern was to give the ball a 'good whack'. As a result of his lack of technique, Bob had spent much of the ten years that he'd been a golfer searching for his ball in woods and long grass. High scores and a high handicap seemed to be his inevitable fate.

Bob and I first met when his employer asked me to coach him to develop his business and leadership skills. When we were working on 'communication' I used a technique that I call Mind-Movies. I taught Bob how to groove pictures into his imagination which showed him making successful presentations.

Mind-Movies are a technique that I developed for empowering clients when I qualified as a Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (mind-language programming).

One day when Bob had just reported making a very successful sales pitch with the aid of a new Mind-Movie, he asked me, in that slightly shy way of his, Do you think we could develop a Mind-Movie that would help my golf swing?

I immediately knew that we could do this. It took a while to work out how best to program the correct images into Bob's mind. And I also had to work out how to string those images together into a golf swing Mind-Movie. Then it was just a matter of finding ways that he could program himself to reproduce the correct physical and emotional feelings which are an essential part of effective Mind-Movies.

By the late spring we were ready. Bob couldn't wait to get going. He was hungry to to start winning. There were a lot of people on whom he was keen to take revenge.

He devoured the script I had written for him to study and learn.. However, he knew from his previous experience with Mind-Movies that in order for it to work he had to make sure that he installed this new program properly into his mind.

The very first round he reported 'noticeable improvements'. He was hitting the ball further and straighter. It was only the odd wayward shot that prevented him posting a really good score. He knew he was on the right track. It was the first time that I've felt like I had a proper golf swing, he told me excitedly.

Over the next few weeks Bob improved steadily until he felt up to entering a competition. He deliberately chose a mid-week event where he knew that the field would be smaller. He finished fourth in a field of thirty seven players and his handicap was cut by two strokes. This was by far the best result he'd ever had. He was over the moon.

A month later he felt ready to challenge for one of the major championships at his golf club. He didn't win that one but three weeks later he rang me late one evening to proclaim: I won!

At the end of the month I was his guest at the prize-giving where he received his silver cup. From my experience with Mind-Movies I feel certain that his game will continue to improve.

Story: -

The newly appointed Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, designs a new force called NGF and allows young people to enter the program and serve the country.Seeing this opportunity, five young people from different walks of life, join this academy. Each has its own set of problems and to join the force for selfish reasons. They begin training under the effective officers Tota Chakravarthy (Venkat) and Kiran Mai (Asmita Sood)Unfortunately, they are expelled from the Academy because of their poor performance and policy. This is also the time when the CM, which began this force comes under the threat of life.Rest of the story is how these five young people who were expelled from the academy are a strength and save the CM.

Plus Points: -

story line of the film is a basic positive. idea of the story and how the NGF force was created to eradicate corruption is quite good.Venkat plays a crucial role in this film after a long interval. It looks and plays his role to perfection, but unfortunately it has not been used well by the director. The same is the case with Asmita Sood as it provides the necessary eye candy, but once again wasted.Coming five young Kranti Reddy, who played the role of John did a great job. He had a difficult role with family responsibilities, he presented quite beautifully. He has a bright future and if he chooses his films well, it could go a long way.
On the road, yet another Kranti actor did a good job in the role of Altaf and connects well with the public. Nagineedu is good that the bad guy, and is Posani in a cameo.
Climax of the filmis really interesting and was well executed.

Minus Points: -

Major drawback of the film is the execution part. After such an interesting story, the director lets her down with poor execution. What is written on paper has not been turned into film.
As the film unfolds in the police academy and Venkat is the officer assigned, its role is very short. There were a lot of opportunities that the angle and the director failed to come stupid comedy.The episode of the comedy Paipula is quite a disadvantage and could be easily modified in the final cut. Rather than focusing on NGF and execution of the murder CM, the film goes off track and remains in the lives of five young detail.

Technical aspects:-

the camera work is quite OK, and showcases the film in a good light. The episodes of the academy and all the rich looks and was well fired.Songs of the film are below par and especially the wedding song in the second half new spoils the flow of the film. Dialogues are OK and so is the background score.The assembly is very bad in a number of scenes in the movie could have been cut. Director Anil Jason disappoints us completely, even if he had a strong enough script.

Verdict: -

Overall, Aa Aiduguru is a movie with a good script and relatively poor execution. Underutilization of stars, and shaking off the main plot are the main disadvantages of this film. Except for some promising players, the film can be watched when the DVD is out.

Is Rishi that the girl wants to marry his brother's Madhumita? Will he sacrifice his love for his family? How he convince Madhumita? Is Rishi Shankar go against Anna?For answers to all these questions, you need to watch this movie on the big screen.

Plus Points: -

As usual, Tarun looks beautiful and takes his role to perfection. It is the only point of this film, and is exceptional in emotional scenes.Sri Hari does his best and gives an honest performance. Interval Bang and the first 15 minutes in the second half is quite interesting.

Minus Points: -

Although Yami Gautam has an important role, she did not take it well. She is extremely ill with dances and expressions. His chemistry with Tarun has no effect.For the first fifteen minutes, the film takes off. scenes and characterizations routine, come and go in the film.Yet another major irritant factor of the film is the comedy track of Venu Madhav and Krishna Bhagvan. He's completely on top and could have been completely avoided.How emotions are processed in the film is quite ordinary. The major players like Chandra Mohan Giri Babu and have almost nothing to do in the film.Yuddham Telugu Movie Review and Rating

Technical aspects:-

the camera work is quite decent in the film. The songs are spirited and were also shot well. The background score is about OK, and thus the assembly.Screenplay is pretty bad. As said above, unnecessary scenes in the movie comes from nowhere and cause a huge obstacle to the film.Dubbing is horrible in the movie. The voice actor Staff were doubled, which seems strange on the screen. After a decent story, director Ganesh Bharti could not run well this film. It does not focus on the script and releases the handle completely.The so-called twists that are presented are also not interesting. Some scenes and characters in the film do not add any weight to the film.

Verdict:-

Overall, Yudhham is not a film that Tarun wanted to make a comeback with. routine storyline and unnecessary humor remains and forced the story completely. You can skip this movie and watch it when it comes to television.

Commercial prospects are solid within the dramatic arena, though ad campaigns leaning too hard on the comic element could lead to disappointed audiences.

First-timer Sam Levinson proves to be a confident and unshowy director, one fortunate to have a skillful cast investing its all in his screenplay. Though some of the movie's performances flirt with caricature (Siobhan Fallon's loud-mouthed aunt, Demi Moore as a brash and overtly sexual second wife), the movie has a center of gravity just strong enough to contain them.

Ellen Barkin plays Lynn, a mother who has made her share of missteps but wasn't dealt a great hand to begin with. Lynn comes very close to collapse (and gets in one actual catfight) while trying to wrangle two troubled sons and a disturbed daughter through an already stressful family event -- her third son, raised by Lynn's estranged husband (Thomas Haden Church, paired with Moore), is getting married at Lynn's parents' Anapolis home. It's a scene promising fraught reunions and grudge-driven friction, particularly between the two women who call the groom "son."

Barkin, who produced the film, has secured for herself a full-tilt role requiring a thousand shades of vulnerable agitation and angry desperation; she's made for the part, and manages to elicit both disapproval and sympathy from the viewer, sometimes simultaneously. But the actress has competition in Ezra Miller, who as Lynn's drug-abusing, emotionally damaged middle son is the movie's sardonic, damaged soul.

The picture is littered with supporting turns that leave their mark, particularly that of Ellen Burstyn, who as Barkin's mother, Doris, typifies the kind of moral ambiguities Levinson's script trades in: When Doris criticizes Lynn's need to make a big deal of every emotional obstacle, she isn't wrong. But the kind of stuff Lynn faces -- an ex who abused her and is still treated sweetly by her mother, a self-harming daughter about to have to encounter him after six years of fearful distance, a son who curses at her and sabotages every attempt at normalcy -- is enough to make anyone crack.

The angsty-wedding film may be its own genre now, and our overfamiliarity with its building blocks make one or two sequences here, especially the post-nuptials toasts and drunken dance-floor action, feel somewhat longer than necessary. But when ante-upping mishaps interrupt the party, Levinson is firmly back in control -- playing both grief and relief with a similar restraint, and refusing to milk the action for the cheap catharsis typically seen in these we're-all-messed-up-together affairs.

The declining moral standards of society, fuelled in some large part by the television media and mainstream movie industry, has been much bemoaned by parental groups, religious organisations and other guardians of our collective morality but without an awful lot of impact being made. The perceived decay of traditional values and weakening of moral fibre continues daily to a point where things which would have made a dock worker blush 30 years ago now proliferate into mainstream network media channels and even into children's programming slots with sensory-numbing regularity.
There can be few parents reading this who haven't sat through a movie they would have loved to have shared with their children but for one or two unsuitable scenes. Or who have been simply unable to enjoy a movie everyone is talking about due to the level of sexual content, violence or other unsavoury content. Renting a Hollywood movie is almost guaranteed to ensure you an unhealthy dose of sex and violence and with the censorship boards becoming increasingly liberal, the PG rating bar allows more and more questionable content to limbo under it.

Well now, all that is starting to change with the help of a few of society's good guys. We've all heard of the slogan "sex sells", but hey guess what? "NO sex sells just as well and has opened up a whole new industry for DVD rental and retail sales.

Family Edited movies are the new 'big thing' to hit the entertainment world with a few pioneers such as Cleanfilms.com stepping up to scrub Hollywood clean!

A family edited movie is basically exactly the same movie you find on the shelves of your local rental store but with all the offensive content edited out. Edited scenes typically include the removal of foul and offensive language, including non-religious reference to deity, the removal of graphic violence, nudity and sexual/overly suggestive imagery and reference to them and basically anything which is liable to cause offence on moral or religious grounds.

The editing is akin to that seen on network television channels with professional editors ensuring there are no obvious breaks in the flow of the movie, so that the only clue the viewer has that they are watching a family edited DVD is that there is no offensive content. Of course, you will not find every movie can be edited in this way, so choices are limited, simply because a lot of movies will not longer be watchable after the adult content has been removed!

Surprisingly, considering a whole new market has been opened up for their movies and a demand has been shown, Hollywood is not too happy about such services and rather than jumping on the bandwagon, has actually voiced opposition to the perceived dismemberment of their 'art'. However, under copyright laws, so long as the editing company holds a copy of the original, unedited movie in their offices for each one they sell, or the customer owns a copy, then the editing process is both legal and irreproachable. Score one for the good guys!

Unfortunately, this kind of messing around does mean that family edited movies do cost more than their unedited counterparts . As edited DVDs can not be sold as edited DVDs, you basically pay for the original DVD movie plus the cost of editing it. Effectively this amounts to a few dollars more on top of the normal retail price of a movie. However, for those who do not wish to pay more, there are a number of family safe DVD rental services around which are just like say, Netflix, but offering nothing but movies with edited content for rental.

Despite the inflated prices of family edited movies, these kinds of services are invaluable for anyone who yearns for the golden age of movies, is tired of having their entertainment spoiled by questionable scenes, or for parents who seek to protect their children from Hollywood's often dubious standards of morality. If that's not worth paying out an extra dollar or two, I don't know what is!
