The misconception of intervention

Many people are wondering what to do when they are afflicted with someone they love with drug and alcohol addiction. They live horror stories that would be fiction in a movie but are actual facts in millions of people lives. What can we do?

Numerous family members are scared that if they do not give the addicts what they want she or he may leave and they will not see him again. Now where is the line? Am I enabling him or her? Am I not being a good mom? The people that enables are individuals that do not know what is going on in the abuser}s head or they do not care.

An user} will take any opened doors to use drugs. They will try to stay at ease at the same time as they are using drugs and alcohol. The dependence is putting a lot of pressure on the addict}. Family members have to put more pressure than the drug is putting on the individual. You probably have heard statements such as: He is not ready, He has to hit rock bottom, and " I cannot take the decision for him.

Lets look at this in another point of view, if your children are putting a pistol to their head. Would you try to encourage him or her to not kill themselves? Would you say that you cannot take the decision for them or they are adults and there is nothing you can do? This an excessive example but what is the difference? The difference is one will take longer to kill himself but nevertheless the user} will almost certainly hurt a lot of individuals on their journey to hell. How many mothers, fathers, children, wives and husbands have been hurt by an addict} or an alcoholic? Every person has multiple examples of themselves being hurt or suffering from someone who had a problem with drugs and/or alcohol.

One of the reasons of long term dependence is that the individual was enabled by an individual. I am not trying to take blame off the shoulder of the addict}. He is using the drug. I am just trying to tell family members and relatives that they do something about it. They just need to phone a expert who can guide them in the right path.

There are two ways to get someone the treatment he will need.

First, family can do an intervention by themselves. In typically needs a leader that will get the intervention coordinated with the rest of the family and also to keep the control of the events. There are a lot of prerequisites that has to be in place before the intervention is actually done. A person is also needed to lead the intervention when it is actually happening.

Secondly, the family can hire a professional interventionist that will perform the intervention from A to Z. Professional interventionist have success rates of 70 to 90 %.

An intervention with suitable planning and carried out properly will result many times in an abuser} agreeing to receive help. But you must admit the reality that eventually the abuser} may for whatever reason} say "NO". This scenario needs to be thought out in advance so that the family constantly moves to the proverbial -plan B.

Cheerleading Youth Sports Camp

As anyone who has ever seen the movie Bring It On! will know, cheerleading is a competitive, active sport that requires energy, endurance and athletic ability. No longer are cheer squads relegated to the sidelines at sports games, but now there are cheerleading competitions and championships all over the country.

Summer Camps for Up and Coming Cheerleaders

As anyone who has ever seen the movie Bring It On! will know, cheerleading is a competitive, active sport that requires energy, endurance and athletic ability. No longer are cheer squads relegated to the sidelines at sports games, but now there are cheerleading competitions and championships all over the country.

If your child enjoys cheerleading, a cheerleading camp might be the best thing to chase away summer boredom. Even if your child has never cheered, a Cheerleading Program might offer her a chance to try cheerleading as a sport.

A Cheerleading Sports Camp will teach your child proper hand and body movements and jumping techniques. Your child will learn cheers and routines that can be performed in front of a crowd, and many cheerleading camps end with the campers putting on a choreographed performance to show off their new skills.

Cheerleading Camps are usually for kids at least six years old and up, and some of them are co-ed. Cheerleading programs at sports camps often provide cheerleaders to cheer at end of camp tournaments for other sports offered by the camp such as basketball or football. It gives the campers multiple opportunities to perform and practice their crowd leading skills and provides support for the playing teams.

Summer camps for kids are popular, and youth sports camps are a safe, affordable way for kids to have fun with other children while developing athletic skills. Under the watchful eye of an experienced coach, children attending cheerleading sports camps learn how to cheer and improve their skills in a positive, secure environment. Participation in sports helps build a childs self-esteem and reinforces positive interaction with adults and other children. Summer camps for kids can be a great way to build healthy bodies, make new friends, and develop lifelong skills.

No matter which cheerleading camp you choose, be sure to investigate the camps safety and security measures to insure that your child will be in a secure environment while her or she is at camp. Coaches and camp staff should be chosen for their character and skills, and they should be carefully screened to insure your childs safety. Any good sports camp will take steps to reassure parents that their facilities and staff are safe and reliable so that you can send your child to cheerleading camp with peace of mind.

It offers a magnificent performance as a village girl.Viplav young director managed to convey his program through powerful dialogues that include significant human values. Benerjee was pretty good as Naxalite.

Negative points:

The lack of necessary commercial elements is the major drawback. Although the basic idea of the filmis good, the director has failed in its implementation in most part of the film. So many sub plots that come in the middle of the film creates enormous confusion. The scenario is slow and not interesting. After 10 minutes, the film becomes quite predictable. The running time is long enough and all the songs break the procedure of the film. There is no clarity on the immediate realization of the villagers.Technicalaspects:Coming to the music, Koti background score is very good for the emotional scenes, but none of his songs are good. Director of photography presented Bharani places Vizag a splendid manner. The production values are good.Film editing is very annoying that the film becomes very long and dragging. The Eleventh Hour Cast: Marley Shelton Finally Achieves Hollywood Success

She has been in the business since the early 90s and her movie credits have already add up to 40 film and TV roles. The Eleventh Hour cast member, Marley Shelton, is not new to the Hollywood life.

The Eleventh Hour cast member, Marley Shelton, is not new to the Hollywood life. She has been in the business since the early 90s and her movie credits have already add up to 40 film and TV roles. From her very first role as Amada from the movie Grand Canyon in 1991 to her first leading film role in the comedy about four girls who turned from cheerleaders to bank robbers, Sugar and Spice, she has indeed etched a name in the industry of chick flicks. However, she only gained the most sought after Hollywood success recently upon bagging the role of Rachel Young in the hit science fiction series, The Eleventh Hour.

Although Shelton has been around the block for almost 2 decades, stable popularity still proved to be something that didnt come in a fortnight. She has constantly appeared in movies as either a minor character or a sidekick to the lead. Because of her usual California blonde look, Shelton has been typecast that lead to limited roles that didnt show off other facets of her acting abilities. Despite being boxed in blonde, ditzy and prima donna parts, the actress was still able to deliver the acting required for the roles she was given and her acting efforts in the films she appeared in have been catalysts and prominent for the development of story lines.

Her movie career might have been just average, but her appearances on TV proved to give her the biggest break shell ever need to put her popularity and propensity for acting to the fore. Her part as FBI agent Rachel Young showed viewers and fans another side to her talent. This Eleventh Hour cast is a favorite among viewers not only for her amazing looks, but also her honest and in-depth portrayal of the part.

Marley Shelton really did her homework to prepare for the role. She even admitted in an interview that this is the first time that she is going to play such a complex role thrown into an even more complicated and amazing story. She together with another Eleventh Hour cast Ruffus Sewell is already gaining unprecedented popularity in the States and other parts of the world through the show. The mystery of the show is becoming more and more exciting as each episode unravels Jacob Hoods dark past and his relationship with Rachel Young.

Being part of the Eleventh Hour cast did really well to Marley Sheltons career. Her acting portfolio is already a testament that she can take on roles in either big budget films like Sin City to independently produced ones like On the Borderline. Her cumulative efforts in these films might have been the breeding ground that prepared her for the TV super stardom that she is already basking in at the moment.

It just goes to show that in Hollywood, there are times when quantity of projects doesnt really count. Rather it is the quality, exposure and the target market of the project that counts. Achieving a success might not come easy, but through perseverance and genuine acting talents like what Eleventh Hour cast Marley Shelton has, success is definitely not at bay.

Sharing Ideas in the Largest Buildings You Can Find

Only for a one atmospheric summer night, the Empire State Building became a huge movie screen for projections of tigers, leopards, honeybees and golden tamarinds, playing from sunset to midnight above Manhattan. The visualization was the part of promotion Racing Extinction, the film directed by Louie Psihoyos. No doubt, when you have so urgent message, it’s an incredible idea to project it on the side of the 100-storied building. Let’s see how the mega-sized art can be used to help people think out of the box.

From small rock concerts to Empire State

Travis Threlkel, the projection artist who use the largest building as his canvas. In the early 1990s, he was playing in a teenage rock band and started developing his talent simply by setting up multiple movie projectors behind his band that created immersive sensory pictures. These innocent amusements led to the launching of his company, Obscura Digital, which puts on wide-scale live events applying innovative light projections.

The artist calls himself a “scale person,” which means Threlkel usually imagines his projects at the overwhelming size. With a highly-qualified team of sixty-plus designers, engineers, architects, machinists, coders, animators and musicians, Obscura’s projections have lighted up the Sydney Opera House, the Empire State Building, the Guggenheim Museum and the United Nations. The artist is firm that extensive scale shows people that someone is trying to tell something. So, he wants to turn adults into curious kids who are constantly asking “How did they do that? What did they want to say?”

Small screens have a great power

Threlkel’s dream is motivating people to look up and see beyond these tiny screens we carry in our hands. Naturally, humans have an instinctive habit to block out anything in peripheral vision. So, to capture an attention of people passing by, an artist should think big and produce something that they haven’t seen before.

Indeed, Travis Threlkel knows that, in spite of the fact that thousands of people looked up at the Empire State Building in real life, many millions saw images of this projection on the small screens via social media. Nevertheless, the concept of “how huge it was”, still gets attention. “Many people weren’t there, but it didn’t deemphasize the significance of them saying how big the projection was,” the artist says.

Have a newsworthy idea? Blow it up!

Whether you’re an activist or artist, you desire to create something that has a powerful meaning. The central meaning of his works is to reconnect people with our planet. Threlkel emphasizes: “When you have a look at hungry children and burning fossil fuels, you are acting disassociated from reality.”

So, in 2016, an artist is going to create a really giant nature-focused project that could cover 3 miles of farm area in Northern California. To put his artwork into life, Threlkel decided to plant numerous digital flowers that will blossom in the spring, revealing a massive picture that can be seen from the air. He hopes, when people see his work from planes, they will feel the pride of humanity and think “We can do great things together.”

Movie Rental Release: 'Gothika' Movie Review
by C Bailey-Lloyd

"Gothika," starring Halle Berry, Robert Downey, Jr., Charles S. Dutton, John Carroll Lynch, Bernard Hill, Penelope Cruz and Dorian Harewood; is a spellbinding film!

Some critics have entirely missed the context of this storyline, and have given this movie a bad review, I beg to differ. "Gothika," the newest production from Dark Castle Entertainment is the culmination of clairvoyance and poltergeist entertwined into one spectacular ride of an individual's innermost emotions and physical reactions.

Halle Berry stars as Miranda Grey, a criminal psychologist working in Woodward Penitentiary for Women. Counseling "Chloe," (played by Penelope Cruz), Dr. Grey, in her medical expertise, does not fully grasp Chloe's rantings and ravings. As she leaves work on a stormy night, she runs off an embankment, avoiding a nude girl standing in the rainsoaked highway.

Coming to her senses, she awakens to find herself as an inmate in Woodward, herself. Dr. Pete Graham (Robert Downey, Jr.) another staff psychiatrist and coworker of Grey, attempts to decipher Miranda's mindset and how she violently 'murdered' her own husband, Douglas (Charles S. Dutton) in the preceding three days. Having no recollection of the ensuing events after her car accident, Miranda is traumatized and nearly catatonic.

An unlikely friend, Chloe helps Dr. Grey to realize that neither of the two are insane, but are driven by an outside force beyond one's wildest imagination. As an open channel to clairvoyance and a medium to spiritual entities, Miranda soon discovers her husband's deep, dark secret.

A rivoting film that will leave you breathless and enlightened to clairvoyance in its most harrowing form. I rate this movie 3.5 Stars.

The Secret Sequel Will it Compare?

Whats Missing in The Secret?

The Secret Law of Attraction wasintroduced to many people for the first time in the phenomenal hit movie"The Secret". However, The Secret DVD doesnot go far enough to explain how the Law of Attraction really works. Lets hopethe upcoming sequel to The Secret continues with whats missing in the originalmovie.

When the Secret DVDfirst came out, and when people heard about it on Oprah, there was a mad rusharound the world to get a copy of it and to find out for themselves. I lovedit. My eyes were opened. I still count it as one of my favorite movies.

Lots of people gotreally excited about it.

At last, they cried, NOW I understand. All I have to do is focusmy thoughts on what I want, and change the language in my head. I can manifestANYTHING I think about. As long as I think about it hard enough and longenough.

Iwant to get results and fast. I dont want to wait for months or years for mydreams. I am going to practice LOTS of visualizing and positive self talk. Illget my Dream Life NOW

They eagerly watchedThe Secret over and over in anticipation that this would bring them theirgoals. They thought about their Dream all day long. They made Vision Boards andLists of Goals. They kept a Gratitude Journal.

Now these are allextremely useful tools. Use them.

But does only thisreally work? Can you manifest just like this? Really?

This is where The Secret falls short. When you watch it you get the expectation that you can manifest your dream outof nowhere. That belief and faith will automatically bring you what you want.Well yes and no!

You MUST take action.

Mike Dooley says: ThoughtsBecome Things

A friend of mine GideonShalwicks has a great quote that he uses: Thoughts are only potential things. Theybecome things only through specifically directed action.

The Secret DVD only brieflymentions taking action. But it needs to be really spelt out.

Focus on your goal.Visualize it with feeling and excitement. Repeat it in your head or out loud. Buthere is the important missing bit ..every time you get a little idea just popping into your head about ways to getcloser to what you want, you MUST actupon it. (Bob Doyle says: You mightget some inspired idea of some action to take.) That little idea is TheUniverse responding to you reaching out saying This is what I want.

Thinking constantlyabout what you want IS important; you must focus on what you want. (JohnAssaraf says: You become what you thinkabout most but you also attract what you think about most).

But unless you DOsomething you are just a dreamer. You are just building castles in the air.

TheScience of Getting Rich was the little book which inspired TheSecret DVD. In this book, Wallace D Wattles wrote:

man must not only think, but his personalaction must supplement his thought. Bythought you can cause the gold in the hearts of the mountains to be impelledtoward you; but it will not mine itself, refine itself, coin itself into doubleeagles, and come rolling along the roads seeking its way into your pocket.

Yourpocketbook is not going to be transformed into Fortune's purse, which shall bealways full of money without effort on your part.

Thisis the crucial point in The Science of Getting Rich; right here, where thought and personal action must becombined. There are very many people who, consciously or unconsciously, setthe creative forces in action by the strength and persistence of their desires, but who remain poor because they do not provide for the reception of the thingthey want when it comes.

BY THOUGHT, THE THING YOU WANT ISBROUGHT TO YOU; BY ACTION YOU RECEIVE IT.

And you must act NOW.Do not wait until you are in the perfect situation, the perfect job, theperfect relationship. NOW is the only time you have.

I love this sayingthat Sherry in the Organic Fruit and Veggie Shop told me the other day:

PAST,PRESENT, FUTURE

ThePast is History

TheFuture is a Mystery

ThePresent is your Gift do it NOW

Put your whole mindand strength and act to the very best of your ability in the situation in whichyou presently find yourself. Do your absolute best in your current job today toprovide service for your customers, your employer and your work colleagues. Bethe best you can in all your relationships with every person you meet. Lookafter your health today as if your body was a sacred temple (it is).

Make every day asuccessful one. A successful day is one when you have done your very best, whenyou have been as efficient as possible. You know if you have dallied around andwasted time and energy - having days like that actually take energy from you, disconnect you from The Universe. They dont feel good YOU dont feel good.

Make very day awinner.

Now this doesnt meanthat you should work yourself to the bone, working late with long hours and runningaround after the whims of other people. That is not successful.

If your days are ALLsuccessful, you are moving in the right direction. Keep holding a clear imagein your head of what you want, while being deeply grateful and The Universewill respond to you and bring you closer and closer to your dreams.

So - Does The Secret Really Work?

Well yes and no!It has made us aware that we can consciously use our brains to focus ourthinking and putting our intention towards where we want to go. And as youchange on the inside, you expose yourself to larger possibilities BUT, whenthose possibilities come along, then this is the time to ACT.

Have a fabulouslysuccessful day.

Motorcycles in the Movies

Thewire fence jump in the movie The Great Escape is arguably the greatestmotorcycle movie scene of all time, but there are others.

When Bud Ekins took the place of Steve McQueen, to jump thewire fence in the film The Great Escape, he arguably created the most famousmotorcycle movie scene of all time, but you will notice that I used the wordarguably, because there are other movies that run this one close. The GreatEscape wasnt a film about motorcycles; it just happened to have the scene thateveryone remembers. Interestingly, although McQueen didnt perform that stunt,it was his idea to include that scene. Both Ekins and McQueen were avidmotorcyclists.

In 1969, Dennis Hopper directed and starred alongside PeterFonda in a film that reverberated far beyond the Movie Theatre. Easy Riderwas the story of two disillusioned youths who, after collecting the funds froma dope sale in Southern California, set off on a trip across America. The Hydraglidesin the film, which were built between 1949 and 1952, were bought at auction for500 US Dollars, but chopper builders Cliff Vaughs and Ben Hardy transformed thebikes, each one having a back-up to ensure the cameras kept rolling. One of thebikes was wrecked in the final scene while the others were stolen before thesignificance of movie props was realised. The final campfire scene still had tobe shot, hence the absence of the motorcycles, whereas in the previous campfirescenes, the bikes are clearly visible. The wrecked Captain America wasrebuilt and by Dan Haggerty and became a museum exhibit until it was sold in2001.

Walter Salles directed The Motorcycle Diaries which was releasedin the USAin 2004. This is the true story of Ernesto Che Guevara who in 1952, beforecompleting his medical degree, sets out with his biochemist friend Alberto, totravel across South America on an old Norton500. La Poderosa (The Mighty or Powerful one), as the bike is fondly, but erroneouslynamed, is asked to take them over the Andes, along the Chilean coast, acrossthe Atacama desert, through the Peruvian Amazon and arrive in Venezuela in justa few months, in time to celebrate Albertos birthday on April 2nd.They actually arrive at their destination in July. This movie is in Spanishwith English subtitles.

In 2007 the Wild Hogs, bored with their middle-classexistence, decide to take to the road on their Harleys. All goes well untilthey fall foul of the biker gang Del Fuegos whose mean leader steals Dudleysbike. The bikes in the film, provided by Harley Davidson, were an XL1200CSporster for Dudley (William Macy), an FXSTS Springer Softail for Bobby (MartinLawrence), a black Fatboy for Doug (Tim Allen) and a Screaming Eagle Fatboy forWoody (John Travolta).

In the 1997 film, Tomorrow Never Dies, Pierce Brosnan andMichelle Yeoh steal a BMW R1200 and tangle with villains in a Range Rover.Needless to say, Bond wins the day, and luckily for Bond, the owner of the BMWdoesnt catch up with him. Bikes arent used much at all in Bond films, whichis a great pity as they seem to be ideal for the this type of movie.

Marlon Brando played gang leader Johnny Strabler in the 1953film The Wild One, in which a small town is terrorized by two rival bikergangs. Brando rides a 1950 Triumph Thunderbird. This film was banned in the United Kingdom for fourteen years, after which itsfirst public airing was at the 59 Club in Paddington, London. The audience were predominantlyRockers. The movie also features Lee Marvin as the opposing gang leader.

In 1968 The Girl on a Motorcycle was Marianne Faithfull asyoung wife Rebecca, who leaves her husband to visit her lover in Heidelberg. One of the amazingthings about this film is how she manages to keep her Harley in an upright positioneven when taking bends. The film is also known as Naked Under Leather, whichsounds a whole lot more interesting dont you think?

There are of course many other movies featuring motorcycles, some of them with very interestingtitles such as She Devils on Wheels, Chopper Chicks in Zombietown andElectra Glide in Blue, but until someone comes up with a scene to rival thewire jump in The Great Escape, Im sticking with my favourite,

A Look at Vintage Hawaiian Shirts

Hawaiian shirts are anything but new. They first got their start in the 1930s when clothing manufacturers decided to produce a cloth and design unique to Hawaii. The original popular shirts were printed on heavy silk and became popular as Hollywood stars wore them in both films and to events, such as movie premiers.

Not everyone could afford heavy silk, however, and many high-quality shirts were printed in rayon and cotton as well. Because these shirts have been printed for over 70 years, there remains a large quantity of vintage Hawaiian shirts on the market.

Vintage Hawaiian shirts can be more expensive than modern-day styles, but they also can have a flair and quality not found today. Despite the fact that the vintage shirts can run the high end of several hundreds of dollars each, they continue to have a strong niche in the fashion world. Authors and clothing designers have studied the history and style of the shirts over the years. Today, information on vintage Hawaiian shirts can be found in books such as Thomas Steele's "The Hawaiian Shirt: Its Art and History," or Nancy Schiffer's "Hawaiian Shirt Designs." More recently, Dale Hope's "The Aloha Shirt: Spirit of the Islands" is an extremely accurate detailing of the history of the Hawaiian shirt.

For anyone interested in purchasing vintage Hawaiian shirts, there are several avenues. Hawaiian dealers are the best sources, as they have the easiest access to locally made shirts. However, several online websites also sell vintage Hawaiian shirts.

Vintage Hawaiian shirts are beautiful pieces of artwork from the past that can be worn just as fashionably as any shirt made today.

This film has received several awards: Best Film and the Audience Award at the 2004 European Film Awards. Fatih Akin is an internationally acclaimed film director whose works include Visions of Europe, Crossing the Bridge:TheSoundofIstanbul and others. Head-On is thrilling and in general, it has an excited atmosphere and the good music that makes understandable the whole movie even without words. Moreover, the film emphasizes the theme of foreignness that is so familiar to its director. This movie has simple structure and clear plot. It is a richly entertaining film that colorfully evokes the music, dance, sexual life, and the concept of foreignness. The film is full of dramatic and realistic scenes. Moreover, it is full of dramatic theme and the theme of otherness or foreignness.

Personal life of major characters from the film cannot be called happy. The foreignness influences their lives. This does not mean their lives are the worst ones but the problems, which they face, are serious ones. Moreover, the culture is different in a foreign country and the film characters have to accept another type of society. The characters find it difficult to live in a foreign country, even for a short period of time. They remember that all changes are difficult and they need to go through all the difficulties in order to value everything they have. Both movies have received awards owing to the great performances of the characters. They are worth seeing as the play of characters is successful. All the parts of these movies have their brilliance.

A good movie usually has a simple plot. Head-On is a good example of simplicity. Head-On is a melodrama that will not leave you indifferent to it. It is worth seeing by all people who like movies of such kind. Head-On is shot in German and Turkish languages. In my opinion Head-On is one of the best dramatic films ever made. It has depth, emotion that makes the spectator think about the life and his actions. This is an affectionate film, salute to the magic of the movies, which recreates the experience of cinema in Germany and Turkey. It raises questions about the place of cinema and the meaning of love and realistic events in our life.

This film reveals the concept of foreignness, otherness that is so familiar to the director of the film. The performance of the cast is great. Birol Unel shines in this great film. He has the role of the 'lost soul' playing a 40-year-old Cahit who is a patient at a German psychiatric clinic. The film is the study of important events in our life, of the significant events people face being at the crossroads between the illusiveness of life and the uncertainty of the future.

Film Review - 28 Days Later

From Danny Boyle, the director that brought you Trainspotting, is 28 Days Later, a stylish zombie horror that manages to stay true to the roots of the genre, while at the same time propelling it forward. The result is one of the best zombie films of the past decade, and indeed, a film that transcends the genre, and is a legitimately good movie in its own right.

The story opens with a gaggle of radical animal rights activists breaking into a research facility where "the man" is conducting some nasty experiments on some poor chimpanzees. The activists, being the defenders of all things small and furry, immediately set to work freeing the animals, but are interrupted by a presumably insomniac scientist. This researcher, obviously upset, warns the activists that releasing the chimps so would be an extremely bad idea.

The animals are infected

Infected with what?

Rage.

Personally, if I was this scientist, knowing whats at stake, I might have tried to come up with a more convincing argument; at least something that sounds a little more, well, communicable. Rage just doesnt seem that life-threatening to me. Obviously, our nature loving friends feel the same way, as they proceed to release a chimp, which promptly attacks them. Chaos ensues.

It is at this point that we are introduced to the protagonist, Jim, 28 days later, as he awakens from a coma in an empty hospital, and eventually discovers that all of London has been seemingly abandoned. This initial sequence of Jim wandering the empty streets of that great city is incredibly creepy and effective.

Presently, Jim encounters a pair of other survivors, as well as the spastic zombie creatures that have become known as the Infected. The infection is apparently transmitted through the blood, and once exposed, a healthy human only has 10-12 seconds before they themselves become an extremely angry, bloodthirsty zombie. This 10-12 second rule is a refreshing device, as it creates great tension in any scene where someone may have been exposed to infected blood. Purists will argue that because they are still alive, the infected are not technically zombies, at least not in the George Romero sense. However, the film is close enough in terms of tone and theme, that Im comfortable classifying it as Zombie Horror.

On the whole, the first two thirds of the film are incredible, with great performances by all, a compelling story and great character development. It even features a shopping sequence, in a fun nod to Romeros seminal Dawn of the Dead. Jim is a complex character, and his continuing and unconscious search for a father figure after the loss of his own father is very compelling.

Unfortunately the film falters slightly in the third act, which differs in tone, and features questionable characterization. It is clear from the DVD, which features not only multiple endings, but also an entirely different third act, that the filmmakers may have been unsure as to how to handle the end of the story. Ultimately the ending they chose, while not as great as what preceded it, is effective enough, and does not diminish significantly from the film as a whole.
