escape to a better life. A life he knew existed, but now only
dreamed about.

Looking out over the vast expanse of the ocean, he constantly
thought about that better life. But those thoughts soon returned
to seeing the opposition and competition that prevented him from
returning to what was rightfully his.

It wasn't easy, but finally, the rescue came.

The movie portrayed a very intense drama. An analogy of what
life is like for many people. Thousands of folks every day feel
trapped in a nowhere life. They feel like their life is being wasted,
like they are going nowhere, on a nowhere island with little hope
of escape.

Every day these people trudge off to a boring and hopeless
job that offers only an existence but no real sense of satisfaction
in life as accomplishing anything.

These people know there is a better life out there, a life they
so desire, yet it seems so far away. They are trapped on their
own island of despair.

Held there, not by the island itself, but by their own fears of
not being able to overcome the adversity and opposition that lies
between them and their dreams.

A few do escape from that island. They are the ones who
finally become sick and tired of living a wasted life, they are the
ones who overcome the fear inside.

They start out from their island, not really knowing if they will
make it or not. But they look that sea of difficulties square in the
eye and say, in the unforgettable words of Admiral David Farragut,
"Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead."

Continuing with the trend of low budget flicks, yet another film, Sahasam Seyara Dimbaka has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story: -

Balaraj (Cree) is a young unemployed person who has the nature of a coward. Seeing his unemployed status, his uncle gets him a job as a police officer in the Forest Department. Balaraju begins his duty with great fear and continues to go to the forest each day.
One day he comes across Vasanta (Samata) and falls for her charm. As time passes, Vasanta offers Balaraju and he in turn calls his best friend Ram Babu (Shakalaka Shankar) for his advice to marry Vasanta.Twist in the tale arises when Ram Babu allows Balaraju know that the girl he was talking to all these days and all his family are all ghosts. Rest of the story is how both these friends fear of death to escape to the forest and save their lives.

Plus Points: -

Some comedy scenes in the film were well executed. Sri does a decent job and is capable in his role. His chemistry with Shakalaka Shankar is very good and came good.While Shankar is in the second half, he manages to create enough laughter. All his scenes with the ghosts are very good and evoke decent entertainment.Both Samantha and Hameeda heroines are good in their roles and provide good eye candy. Jyothi provides glamorous enough for advisers before in the first half.

Negative points: -

As provided by the manufacturers, this film is a horror or comedy or exciting. Both aspects are missing great moment in the film. If policy makers have added more thrills and horror elements, the output would have been even more effective.There was absolutely no need for a special track for Jyothi and Appa Rao. This episode deflects the subject and breaks the flow of the film. The songs are huge speed breakers and could be easily removed.There are some logical that disappeared in the film. Narrative of the film is quite low as a simple story was stretched unnecessary.

Technical aspects:-

There is nothing special about the technical aspect of the film. The music of Sri Vasaanth is about right and could have been better. The cinematography is average as visual unclear. Mounting Martand K Venkatesh is pretty bad.Coming to the director Kiran Tirumalasetti he did a decent job with dialogues, but goes haywire in its execution. He loses focus after a while and the output is hindered because of his lack of experience.

Verdict:-

For the success of any horror comedy, it must be sufficiently horror coupled with hilarious comedy. But Sahasam Seyara Dimbaka fear or fun or you completely. Other than decent comedy Shakalaka Shankar in the second half, this film has nothing much to offer and can be ignored this weekend.

Let me state something important right now: THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN AFFECT THE SUCCESS OF YOUR PARTY, DINNER, CONVENTION, EVENT OR YOUR PERSONAL REPUTATION AS THE ENTERTAINMENT YOU CHOOSE -- so please make your choices carefully! To put it simply: Good entertainment will be remembered long after the food is gone. (Don't believe me? When was the last time you heard someone rave about a steak they had at an event three weeks ago?) For this reason, entertainment buying can be a daunting task. So just how do you find the right entertainment to make your event successful?

I will not go into detail about hiring bands or DJ's -- although many of the tips I will recommend here will apply to these entertainers as well. Generally, bands and DJ's are considered "dance and background" entertainment and although important, they will not affect the outcome of your event as much as a professional act or solo entertainer can. People can still have fun with an "adequate" Band or DJ. As long as they play appropriate and pleasant music at the right times, it will not seriously affect the outcome of the event. On the other hand, an "entertainer" who presents consistent and successful shows can literally have your audience laughing, cheering, beaming with compliments and talking about your event WEEKS LATER and that is what I want to guide you to find. So let's discuss how to find the best entertainer for your event.

There are two ways to find entertainment: One is to contact a reputable entertainment agency. The other is to hire an entertainer independently. You will find both entertainers and agents in the same way -- either by recommendation, yellow page advertising, entertainment directories, internet sites or by direct contact. Choosing to use an agent or hiring an act directly can be done with equal success if approached properly.

I have worked with entertainment agencies for many years and have nothing but praise for the reputable ones. A reputable agent has a list or "roster" of suitable entertainers. If you do not know what kind of entertainer you would like, a reputable agent can help direct you to the right performer. Be warned though that the agent will limit his suggestions to the roster of entertainers he or she represent -- which may or may not include the best or most appropriate entertainers. Because the agent handles more than one performer, he will only have a "rough idea" of what each entertainer can do and because of the vast number of entertainers he represents, it is not uncommon for him to unintentionally misrepresent what the act is capable of doing. If you select the right entertainment agency, an agency you can trust or have worked with successfully in the past, you will be able to choose from a variety of different types of entertainers which will be suitable for your event.

If you know or have at least an idea of what type of entertainment you want, hiring a solo entertainer or an act (consisting of more than one performer) can be advantageous. Being able to speak with the performer directly, he can tell you much more specific information about his act than an agent can. He can recommend specific routines for your particular audience and can let you know from experience where in your evening his entertainment would best fit. The entertainer can work closely with you to tailor the show to fit your particular event. Please be aware though that as a rule, if you saw a performer entertain at a previous event where he was contracted through an agent and you wish to hire him or her for your event, ethically, he must go through that agency unless he has agreed with that agent otherwise.

Whether you choose to go through an entertainment agency or through the act directly, ask to receive a COMPLETE PROMOTIONAL PACKET or at the very least a brochure. This should include any or all of the following: a photo (or photos), a biography, a list of credentials including places he or she has performed, a list of clients he or she has successfully entertained, a variety of newspaper reviews of their act and testimonials from past clients.

Look at all of these carefully, but be skeptical -- there are always acts and agents who lack integrity, and it is not uncommon in this business for them to list prestigious places the act has supposedly entertained when in truth they haven't. If in doubt, don't be afraid to question them about the places they say they have worked -- make sure they can back it up!

The most important item to ask for is a VIDEOTAPE of the act. This is where the act literally "speaks for itself". When you review the tape, watch it as if you yourself were in the audience and be sure to watch it more than once. If you are on a committee, watch it with others and discuss it. When viewing the tape, listen not only to the act, but to the audience's response. Be wary of tapes that are performed in a studio without an audience and of tapes that only show tiny "snippets" of the act assembled with slick editing. Seeing a series of clips containing only one punchline each is not as effective or important as watching a five minute routine with a laugh every 10 seconds!

Because entertainers and agents know that your time is valuable, it is common for a promotional videotape to not contain a "full show". It may consist of select routines which may or may not be shortened. This is acceptable, but you should be able to see some "meaty" routines with little or no editing so that you get a true feel for the act. Be critical -- remember, the success of your evening is depending on it!

I would not recommend considering acts that contain "blue" or "risque" material. Although the audience on the tape might be laughing, and although you might even think that it's funny, hiring an act with questionable material is bound to offend someone, and it can easily backfire on you and reflect badly on you, your company or organization.

Once you have found the entertainment you desire, you should sign a CONTRACT with them as soon as possible. The best acts will book their yearly calendars quickly -- especially for dates around prime times of the year like the Holiday Season -- so don't delay! Asking the act or agent to merely "hold" a particular date is not enough -- without a signed contract they are not obligated to your engagement and are free to accept a "sure thing" should it come along. Remember, you are hiring the best -- others will be looking for the best as well!

The cost of an entertainer varies according to the quality, experience and notoriety of the performer. As a rule, the best performers will be more expensive -- as it should be. Don't make the mistake of hiring two inexpensive acts of lesser quality instead of one expensive act. Two adequate acts will never compare to one great act, and the money you spent two acts of lesser quality will have been wasted. This is simply an issue of quality, not quantity.

If for some reason the act is beyond your budget, be truthful and open to the act or agent and let them know what your budget is. They might be able to make concessions or suggest ways of saving you money -- perhaps presenting only a 20 minute show instead of a 30 minute show, or perhaps presenting an alternative act instead of the one they had originally planned. Other than small concessions though, don't expect them to reduce their price considerably. They know what they are worth and to maintain their reputation in the industry, they must maintain a consistent market price. To charge your group less than they charged their last group is simply bad business.

Once the act is contracted, make sure the entertainer or agent provides you with a list of PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS -- things that the act needs to make the show run smoothly. This may include things like a dressing area, the size of the stage or dance floor they will require to present the act properly, microphone or sound requirements, the time they will need in advance to set up the show, etc. Having this list of requirements in advance will save you from last minute surprises like "not knowing that the act required a cassette tape player", or that "the audience should not have been seated at the sides of the performer". This list tells you what is needed to make the act run smoothly. If you cannot meet one or more of these requirements, let the act or agent know as soon as possible so they can adjust the show accordingly.

Once the show requirements are provided for, you can be assured that the show will run smoothly, and you can relax knowing that you have the best professional entertainer in the right environment which will make your event an event to remember!

Things to do once the entertainer has been selected:

___ 2. Ask to receive a copy of any "Performance Requirements" and pass a copy of them along to the people handling the technical aspects of the show (lighting and sound people, hotel AV department, etc.)

___ 3. A final call a week or two before the event to go over last minute details is always helpful and appreciated -- especially when last minute changes have been made (like the addition of an "awards presentation", a "speech by the company President" etc.)

Review: Cars 2 offers more layers than a good paint job

There is layer upon layer of intricate detail in the movie Cars 2, the sequel to the successful 2006 Pixar release Cars. So much detail, in fact, that you might want to wait until the DVD comes out so that you can freeze the frames and pick out all of the subtle automotive styling with distinctive car dvdand android car GPScues that abound within.

But go see the movie. It's worth every frame to see the transformation of what used to be our planet to a purely automotive paradise, all kinds of unique car , luxury installation of car dvd player, android car stereo and so on

The Pixar team once again constructed an entire world where cars, trucks and boats are the characters. The only hint of a human presence is a ladder hanging from a huge mining truck that Tow Mater and Lightning McQueen upend when they go "tractor tipping." Transverse leaf springs hold up a bridge in Paris, snow on Mt. Fuji looks like tire tracks, the top of the Arc de Triomphe is a big valve cover for gm navigation, the dome of St. Paul's Cathedral (Car-thedral?) in London is a differential and Big Ben is now Big Bentley.You'll see details that barely have time to register, and which had to have taken weeks if not months of work on someone's behalf, that then disappear as we are flung forward in this fast-paced film. One 12-minute race scene in Italy is composed of 250 shots, each one featuring car-themed buildings, bridges and barricades.

It must be exhausting to work at Pixar. All that hard work is worth it, though, as the movie is so visually intriguing that it will have you wishing you could freeze each frame in the theater.

Racing themes with which you'll be familiar also abound. The real Jeff Gordon voices a Chevrolet Corvette C6.R named Jeff Gorvette while Lewis Hamilton voices a McLaren supercar named . . . Lewis Hamilton. Up in the announcers booth are a Chevy Monte Carlo named Darrell Cartrip, a Jaguar E-type with android car stereo named David Hobbscap and a Ford Mustang named Brent Mustangburger. We'll let you figure those out.

But the directors--Pixar chief John Lasseter and Ratatouille director Brad Lewis--may have been so successful in creating the world in which Cars 2 plays out that they lost some of the simplicity that made the first Cars installed with android car GPS--as well as so many other Pixar movies--such successes.

When Cars 2 does deliver its life lessons, they don't come as the gentle epiphanies of Cars or Toy Story so much as public-service announcements. Then it's time to rush back out in the world and start the chase anew. Study proves seeing people smoke makes the brain crave a cigarette

Seeing actors in a movie activated the brain areas of smokers known to interpret and plan hand movements. Basically, seeing someone else smoke instinctively had their body moving to light a cigarette of their own.

If smokers see someone else lighting up, their brains will crave a cigarette. This is a biological effect proven in a new study that examined the hand movements of smokers. Seeing actors in a movie activated the brain areas of smokers known to interpret and plan hand movements. Basically, seeing someone else smoke instinctively had their body moving to light a cigarette of their own.

Its published in the Journal of Neuroscience. Habitual smokers repeat the same hand motions many times each day. The studys focus was to see whether the parts of the brain that control that routine gesture could be triggered by simply seeing someone else smoke.

And they found that seeing someone light a cigarette evoked the same brain responses as planning to actually make that movement. This provides more insight for people trying to quit smoking, an addiction that leads to one in five U.S. deaths each year.

This supports past findings that showed smokers who watched people smoke in a movie left the theater more likely to crave a cigarette. What needs further investigation is whether seeing such images in motion pictures will affect a person trying to quit smoking.

To the study: 17 smokers and 17 non-smokers watched the first 30 minutes of the movie Matchstick Men, while MRIs examined their brains. That film prominently features smoking scenes. The secret: volunteers were unaware that the study was about smoking. When they saw actors smoke, smokers showed greater brain activity in the areas involved in the perception and coordination of actions. They specifically corresponded to the hand they use to smoke.

So, for those trying to quit smoking, this is one item that might not immediately come to mind. Avoiding watching people smoke, either on the screen or in real life. Such images might be silently causing your brain to fire up a response that involves lighting up a cigarette.

About a year and a half ago I had a doctor’s appointment for my annual checkup. It was on a work day and I could have gone in late, but I decided to take the day off. A “day off” sounds nice but in reality I had a ton of work to do. I had to edit my book, (Hopeless To Husband: How to Get Out Of the Basement And Change Your Life, available on Amazon- I know, shameless plug) and I also had to get my website up and running, (TreatHerRight.org- last shameless plug) For the previous year I had been working feverously during my lunch hour at work and any spare time I had- which wasn’t much. The long term plan was to sell a million books and be able to work from home so I could take care of my future children. (If my boss is by chance reading this- sorry)

I’m a “Tony Robbins guy”. Tony talks about envisioning yourself being successful so instead of taking the “day off” I wanted to make the day a test run of when I would be financially independent. I started the day with a little exercise and having egg whites for breakfast as I wanted to make sure my new routine would be health conscious. As I was making breakfast I was listening to an interview with somebody who mentioned they were from Allentown Pennsylvania. “Just like the Billy Joel song – Well we’re living here in Allentown, and they’re closing all the factories down,” He said. I was reminded how, a few days ago, I had just put my best of Billy Joel CD on my new computer and as soon as the interview was over I started listening.

Of course I started off with “Allentown” and then listened to “Don’t Ask Me Why”. Throughout the day I must have listened to the mix a few times. I had an extremely productive day. I finished editing my book, had a phone meeting with my web designer, as well as made various other phone calls that I had been putting off or just didn’t the time to do. I was “in the zone”. I wasted no time throughout the day and worked as if it was a regular thing to work from home. I made a promise to myself to take more days off from work to concentrate on side projects that I had. The next day was business as usual as I returned to my 8-6 job.

As the next few weeks went by I still spent my lunch hour working on my book and website but I didn’t have enough free time to get the ball rolling on what I wanted to do. Driving home from the store one day I turned on the radio and Billy Joel was on. I immediately was brought back to the state of mind that I was two weeks previous of when I was “in the zone” To not let the moment be lost when I returned home I immediately did a few things that I had been putting off. In fact over the course of the next year whenever I was in a malaise I would just put some Billy Joel on my ipod and if nothing else I got some sort of motivation. The great part is he seemed t on be everywhere. He was playing on the New Years Eve show my wife and I watched and he seemed to constantly be on the radio. He was everywhere and he even started a gimmick where he played Madison Square Garden every month for the foreseeable future.

You can take one guess what I got my wife for her Birthday last year. In a coincidence the night that we went to see Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden it was the first day of my free download promotion to kick off the debut of the book. Not only that, but my book was the number one free downloaded dating book for men at the time. The night was surreal. As the “piano man” played, not only was I shocked at how great he sounded at 65 years old but when I looked back at my life over the last year I was amazed at how much I had accomplished. Not only had I reached my goals with my book, website, and doing self-help podcasts for single men, but my wife and I had purchased our first home together. At 38 years old I had never had a year in my life where I had attained so much.

I’m not giving Billy Joel or Tony Robbins for that matter, the credit for what I was able to do that year. But both of them served as anchors that would get me back on the right track when I would lose focus. In a coincidence I had picked a very popular singer, that whenever I heard his music; it would bring me back to a place where I was “in my zone.” The next time you accomplish something big; listen to some kind of music. It doesn’t matter who sings it or what song. I would recommend something popular since you have a better chance of hearing it more often. In the future when you hear that song, or artist, it will bring you back to that place where you got the job, scored the touchdown, or the woman of your dreams kissed you for the first time. It will bring you to a place where you feel you can do anything you want- and you can.

What do Billy Joel and Tony Robbins have in common? They have sold millions of CD’s, sold out arenas, traveled the world, and coincidently been married three times. But for me, they both can bring me to a state where I feel I can accomplish any goal I set in front of me. They both can get me “in my zone” By the way; I took a “snow day” off from work today to write this.

Salt is proof that Angelina Jolie can carry an actionpicture all by herself. The Academy Award winner gives a remarkable physicalperformance as the ex CIA operative on the run.

This could have been just another of those Hollywoodcookie-cutter chase movies where an innocent man (or in this case, woman) isframed for something they didnt do, and spends the movie searching for the realcriminals at the same time avoiding capture by the authorities. This was donemasterfully years ago in The Fugitive. Its also been done dreadfully in many sadexamples.

But Salt, the new movie by Phillip Noyce, the director ofPatriot Games and "Clear and Present Danger." can be comparedfavorably to The Fugitive. And the reason is due to the muscular, gritty andexplosive performance of Angelina Jolie. Where Harrison Ford was instrumentalin the success of the before-mentioned three films, Jolie is crucial to thefeel of Salt.

Jolie plays CIA operative Evelyn Salt, one of the agencystop super-spies. On the night of her wedding anniversary Salt is contacted bythe Agency. A recently defected Russian spy is thought to have informationcrucial to National Security. Since Salt is their best interrogator, theysummon her in to do the interrogation.

During the interrogation the Russian defector lays out a stillactive, decades-long Soviet plan to plant sleeper agents inside the United States.Starting in 1975, Russian agents began entering the United States and immediatelystarted blending into the population. These agents, indoctrinated sincechildhood, are ready and waiting for missions from Russia.

One such mission, according to the defector, has just beenissued. The Russian President has just entered the United States to visit with theAmerican President. One of the sleepers is to kill the visiting RussianPresident and the host American President. In the middle of this certain chaosa nuclear device, hidden somewhere in the Middle East, will be detonated insuch a way as to implicate the U.S.The idea is to destroy the United Stateswhile Russiaregains power.

Salt, her CIA bosses and coworkers are astonished to hear ofthis plan. Salt then presses the defector for the name of the mole. After a fewlame attempts at resistance he finally answers Evelyn Salt.

As her CIA colleagues in the room look at each other andthen at her, the next sequence lets the viewer know what to expect from the rest of the movie. EvelynSalt immediately transforms from super-spy to mega-super-spy. In a rapidsuccession of physical feats that would make Jack Bauer envious, she escapesfrom the room, makes her way out of the CIA building, jumps off an overpass andonto a moving 18-wheeler, then onto a tanker truck, then onto another semibefore landing on the windshield of a cab, stealing a motorcycle and speedingaway.

Of course her quick exit just makes her CIA colleagues surethat she is a mole. That is all except her associate and good friend Ted Winters(played by Liev Schreiber), who loves her and desperately wants to believeshe's innocent. The head counterintelligenceagent on the case (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor) immediately mistrusts her andsends out everyone he has to track her down dead or alive.

The rest of the movie is Salt trying to find out what isgoing on, who is doing this to her, and to clear her good name. In a subplotthat turns out to be more important as the film goes on, Salts husband iskidnapped. Now she must also search for her husband.

As alluded to earlier, no actress working today is asconvincing an action star as Jolie, and she does tear it up here; the fightscenes are graphic and intense with almost no CGI. You can tell that Jolie isperforming stunts that could result in serious injury or even death if she wasntwell trained. Salt commits manyacts of violence over a short time some of them very questionable, many ofthem deadly, in her attempt to evade capture. Really, her character shares manytraits with Jack Bauer.

The moviedoes a good job of concealing whether or not Salt is actually a good spy or abad spy. Just when you think you have it nailed down something happens to makeyou reevaluate.

If you wantto see a very entertaining movie that will keep you guessing to the very end,go see Salt.

Josh Brolin will be joining Shia LaBeof (dont get me wrong I like the guy but what kind of name is this REALLY?), Michael Douglas, and Oliver Stone for the next edition Wall Street. He will play a slick, conniving Hedge fund manager. Shia LaBeouf will be playing an ambitious young trader dating Michael Douglass (Gordon Gekko) daughter. Douglas in the movie has just been sprung from prison sometime in the late 90s. Having Josh Brolin in the movie is a truly smart choice. After seeing Brolin in No Country For Old Men, he is truly one of the few actors today who could hang with Michael Douglass ruthless Gordon Gekko. Filming for the movie starts next month and is slated for early 2010. I think its amazing how Wall Street hasnt changed in the last 2 decades. The products they sell are different but with the collapse of the current market shows the ideas and shark like nature portrayed in the first movie are alive and well today. Oliver Stone in his fanatical way always brings a fresh view into what ever subject material he is putting forth to the movie audience. Wall Street is a good representation of this but I think his best commentary type of movie was Any Given Sunday. This go around should be grittier and darker then the original Wall Street. Im not a big fan of Charlie Sheen. It still would be cool if he made appearance in a movie to warn Shia LaBeouf of following the wrong path, but there has been no discussion of him making a return.
