Earlier this year, British director SamMendes negotiated with producer for the new set of 007 films, so many fanslooking forward to the injection of fresh blood. Allegedly, if all goes well,the film shooting will start on June this year and release in 2011.Atthat time, MGM have already faced a fund crisis, but there is still confidence thatthe progress of 007 films will not be affected.

But in late April of this year, 007 series producerMichael Wilson and Barbara Bullock announced they have suspended the new 007film project.The biggest reason is that "taking into account theprospect of MGM and the unknown financial problem exist in reality," alsothey stated that "it is uncertain when they will restart the program"and made it clear that MGM is determined to "kill" the 007 seriesmovies.

It is reported that MGM is currently nearly40 billion in debt, and eager to find a buyer, there is no way to come up with enoughcost of making this movie.
