Anchor turned director, Ohmkar didn’t see much luck with his debut film Genius. He has now changed gears and is back with a horror comedy Raju Gari Gadhi. The promotions of the film have clicked big time and created a good buzz for the film which has released today. Let’s see how it is.

Story: -

The story is set in the middle of the dangerous Raju Gari Mahal in Nandima. Anyone seeking to learn more about the mystery are killed meticulously. To take advantage of this hot topic, a popular television channel provides a reality show in the dreaded bungalow.The channel selects a group of young people and encourages them to spend a week in the dreaded home and earn a huge cash prizes of 3 crores. Rest of the story is how the group manages to survive this challenge and discover what is really inside this Raju Gari Gadhi.

Plus Points: -

major asset of the film is the humor contained in the film. Credit must go to completely Shakalaka Shankar and Dhanraj for their hilarious roles. These two actors are the main stay and generate superb comedy in the first half. While Shakala Shankar evokes great laughs with his accent and religious satires, Dhanraj is superb as the village Shivudu buff.
Omkar's brother, Ashwin looks okay in his role and so was Dhanya Balakrishna. Chetan Cheenu gets a meaty role and does his best. First half of the film is a riot of laughter and a few episodes of the hilarious comedy.Second half into a suspense mode and some times of engagement. Some thrill and scary moments were treated well. Raman Vidyu is very good and has good comedy alongside Dhanraj and Shankar.

Negative points: -

After the establishment of a superb first half, second half is sinking a little. Not that the movie is bad during this time, but people are so eager to find out what is actually Raju Gari Gadhi, procedures are deflected and wrapped in a simple way.Ohmkar would care to reveal the facts behind the Raju Gari Gadhi. However, it takes the film in a completely different direction and it is serious. Some logical Saptagiri disappear and the character does not work well. Instead, it makes the silly movie and diverts attention in raju gari gadhi movie review.

Technical aspects:-

The Taj set is quite impressive and the credit must go to Suresh Sahi art director to create a rather enticing premise. Film songs are ok, but the score Sai Karthik background is quite good. Scenario is decent Ohmkar manages to evoke decent entertainment and manages a suspense factor in the second part.Coming to the director Omkar, he did a great job with the first half, but could have managed the second part of a better way. Arguably his second attempt as a director is impressive and it has a long way to go.

Verdict:-

Overall, Ragu Gari Gadhi surprises you with decent entertainment. A first half hilarious, superb performance in Shakalaka Shankar and Dhanraj are major assets. If you manage to attend the second half bog and poor, you can easily give this film a shot this weekend.
