Wall Street 2 Money Never Sleeps brings 1980s iconic WallStreet raider Gordon Gekko back after 20 years in this exceptional sequel tothe 1987 classic. Watch Wall Street 2 Money Never Sleeps online for free andsee Michael Douglas reprise his Oscar winning role.

Gordon Gekkos Greed is Good speech from the 1987 movieWall Street is one of that decades most well known movie scenes. It wonMichael Douglas the Best Actor Academy Award and in the process helped define awhole generation of people. Gekko and his philosophy of making money at anycost became a hero to the swarms of young, ambitious yuppies of that era.

There have been several subsequent movies that have madereference to Gordon Gekko, most famously in a scene from the similarly themed2000 movie Boiler Room, where a group of crooked stock trading Generation X-ersgather at one of their homes to watch the movie Wall Street. When the Greed isGood speech begins every person in the room is able to recite it word for word.It is apparent that Gekko has become almost a religious icon to those youngcrooks.

When Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps begins it is 2008 andGekko has been out of prison for 7 years after serving 10 years for his crimesin the first movie. He lost his fortune and is no longer able to play thegame. His makes his living writing books, afterwards promoting them on booktours and appearing on morning shows as a celebrity author. He also lecturesabout the impending financial doom that the country is headed for due to thecrazy out of control greed and speculation that makes the 1980s look tame. Itappears that his years in prison has put him on the road to redemption, and allhe really wants now is to reconcile with his daughter, who wants nothing to dowith him.

The young protagonist in this movie is Jake Moore (played bythe over-rated Shia LeBeouf). He has a lot in common with Charlie Sheens BudFox from the first movie . hes young, aggressive and ambitious but also has asense of ethics. He also happens to be dating Winnie Gekko (played by CareyMulligan), who is the estranged daughter of Gordon Gekko. Jake is fascinatedwith Gekko and has always wanted to meet him, but Winnie wants no part of herfather and forbids Jake from any contact.

Things change for Jake when his beloved boss and mentor LouisZabel (Frank Langella) is driven to commit suicide by the actions of BrettonJames (a terrific Josh Brolin). Bretton is the owner of a financial company whowas somehow able to destroy the stock value of Jakes company. Jake wantsrevenge against Bretton, but ends up working for him anyway because Bretton isable to provide Jake the funds to bankroll his pet project dealing with greenfusion power.

Jake soon afterwards meets Gordon, and they form a sort offather-son relationship. Gordon will help Jake exact his revenge againstBretton and Jake will help try to reconcile Gordon and his daughter Winnie. Its fascinating to see Jakes slow but steady turn to the ethical dark sideas he eats up what Gordon teaches him.

With the economy being the current number one issue in the United Statesthis movie could not have come at a better time. Virtually every character inthis movie is out to make obscene amounts of money for themselves, and the moviedoes a good job explaining how they were able to wreck the economy. The innerworkings of hedge funds and Wall Street institutions as they were in 2008 areexplored in an obvious attempt to explain how the most recent economic crashcould have occurred.

Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps is a remarkable good moviewith an outstanding cast. Every actor is at the top of their craft and areexcellent. But the best of them all is Michael Douglas as an older, wiserGordon Gekko.
